We’re thrilled to present our current exhibition 𝔉𝔢𝔪𝔦𝔫𝔞, curated by Emma Hapner. 💘 Inspired by Janina Ramirez’s groundbreaking book, Femina (2023), the exhibition asks: how the history of women is being written today? By bringing together a diverse group of feminine-presenting artists, we aim to explore, document, and preserve contemporary femininity in its many forms. Featuring work by @deb_koo @ally_cotton_art @jessica_violetta @jalena.hay @yanabeylinson @emmagracehapner @artbymycha To set up a private viewing, email [email protected]

Being a gallery director has never just been about hanging work on walls for me. It has always been about people. Before opening @warnescontemporary in Brooklyn, I was curating exhibitions, organizing gatherings, and creating opportunities for artists to come together around their work. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of curating numerous exhibitions, each one teaching me something new about trust, collaboration, and the power of shared creative energy. When I opened the gallery, I knew I wanted it to be more than an exhibition space. I wanted it to feel alive. A place where artists and community members could come not only to view art, but to connect, learn, and feel welcomed. The most meaningful moments for me aren’t just opening nights, they’re the workshops where we can bring our community members into the space to connect over creating, the curator walkthroughs where we share a deeper understanding of the work, and the conversations between artists and visitors. Warnes Contemporary has been a journey of intuition, risk, and deep care for the artists I work with. Every exhibition, gathering, and conversation adds another layer to what this space is becoming: a creative home shaped collectively by the community that walks through its doors. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey so far. 🤍 Xo V

Last month, we presented our largest exhibition to date at Warnes Contemporary, From The Ground Up, curated by @erikabhess ✨ Bringing together artists from across the United States, our annual juried exhibition explores the landscape as both subject and point of departure, with works reflecting on memory, transformation, materiality, and place. The opening night was especially meaningful, filled with thoughtful conversations, new connections between artists and collectors, and a shared energy that made the space feel truly alive. It’s always special to see the work come off the screen and into real dialogue. The exhibition is on view through June 14. 🔗 View and collect available work via the link in bio or at /partner/warnes-contemporary-gallery To set up a private viewing, please email [email protected]

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news — Warnes Contemporary is officially representing Jalena Hay! @jalena.hay Jalena’s practice is all about taking control of the chaos. Her work layers Pen, Ink, Gouache, Pastel and Colored Pencil to create intricate compositions that don’t just ask for your attention—they demand it. These compositions evoke a tension between abstraction and emotion, where every mark becomes part of a larger exploration of themes such as impermanence, resilience, and interconnectedness. Jalena Hay was born and raised in Southern California before moving to New York City to study Drawing and Printmaking at Pratt Institute. Jalena’s latest available works are now live on our Artsy, with more being added in the coming weeks. For all inquiries, please reach out to the gallery directly. #WarnesContemporary #NewRepresentation #ContemporaryArt #MixedMediaArtist #Artsy

Six years ago, I was writing a blog with the intention of sharing stories by artists from around the world. I didn’t have a business plan, I just knew I wanted to connect, to create something meaningful, and to be part of a larger conversation. Since then, I’ve been invited to speak for organizations including the Women’s Caucus for Art, National Association of Women Artists, and Salmagundi Club, as well as universities like School of Visual Arts and Maine College of Art & Design, where I’ve shared insights on how to navigate the art world. What began as a simple blog grew through conversation, curiosity, and consistency. I reached out to artists I admired, asked questions, listened, and kept showing up. Over time, those conversations turned into relationships, and those relationships became the foundation for everything I’ve built. Visionary Art Collective and Warnes Contemporary came from that place. A desire to create the kind of support system I was searching for. A space where artists could feel seen, supported, and empowered to take their work seriously. Today, that vision continues to evolve through mentorship, programs, the podcast, the magazine, and the gallery. And through it all, I continue returning to my own practice, because at the center of everything I build, I’m still an artist. What I’ve learned is that confidence isn’t something you wait for, it’s something you build. I believed in myself before I had proof, and through this work, I’ve had the privilege of helping artists from around the world build that same confidence within themselves. If you’re on your own path right now, keep going. Stay consistent, protect your energy, and don’t be afraid to take up space. You don’t need permission to begin. I’m so grateful for this community and for everyone who has grown alongside me. I have a limited number of spots open for my 1:1 Mentorship program for Summer 2026, link in bio. Xo
