Pause is a conceptual exploration of liminality, examining the space between sleep and consciousness through the lens of sleep paralysis and everyday dissociation. The collection translates these intangible psychological states into sculptural garments that embody tension, stillness, and unease. Silhouettes appear suspended mid-motion, balancing softness and restriction, while manipulated textiles cling, collapse, and resist—mirroring the disconnection between body and mind. Rooted in a tactile design process, the work prioritizes material interaction over resolution, allowing fabric to dictate form through gravity and resistance. A restrained, moody palette and an emphasis on texture over embellishment create an atmospheric quietness, where fear is expressed not as spectacle, but as weight and presence.
