To say I’m grateful and honored almost feels too polite for the wave of feeling moving through me right now. Being an independent designer means betting on your own ideas every single day — sometimes loudly, sometimes quietly — and hoping they land somewhere with heart.
And this night carried a little extra magic: honored to be a finalist for the @davidyurman@gemawards Gem Award and to see my work featured in the @nytimes 🤟 @tanyadukes — all in the same day. A reminder that grace and persistence have their moments.
As creatives we’re always searching for open spirits to pour our work into. Pieces shaped with patience, intention, and the belief that jewelry can carry stories far beyond metal and stones.
And as an independent, I’ve always had the privilege of choosing this path.

I grew up around sport culture before I ever understood fashion.
The graphics. The movement. The repetition. The psychology. The women behind it all.
My twin sister and I both played volleyball – Junior Olympics, Varsity. We played music, too. At university, she chose NCAA Division 1 volleyball. I chose classical music. My mom made both paths possible.
Sport and culture were never separate for me.
Shoot It Hot started there.

Anya and Chris came to me with a family diamond necklace—already lived, already part of something. We certified the stone, giving it its full set of quality signals, then redesigned it into a completely new piece for their future commitment—reworking inherited jewelry into something personal, precise, and right for now.

Like a flower that doesn’t disappear.

The bolo tie has always felt like an open design system to me — a cord, a slide, endless interpretation…
For Bijules, I approached it as a modular brooch that can travel along the cord, shifting between choker, necklace, and wrap. Mother-of-pearl, turquoise, and gold carry a dialogue between the American South and my Korean heritage. The evolution of the Nail Ring is apparent as Bolo Tips and I always look to develop from Bijules Bestsellers;j
