Though my background has been largely rooted in women’s eveningwear, menswear has always been a quiet fascination of mine—something I’ve returned to instinctively over the last few years. Still, I never could have imagined that my first fully tailored suit set, reinterpreted with a distinctly modern edge, would make its debut on the Grammys red carpet. Seeing it worn by my incredibly talented friend Brian
@vouski , on a night that celebrated his nomination for Best Opera Recording, made the moment all the more meaningful.
Inspired by his character in “An American Soldier”, Danny Chen, the design pays homage to the army uniform he wears while reimagining it through a contemporary lens. The modernized navy wool blazer features a strong, architectural shoulder with army epaulettes, a cinched waist, and an unexpected back cutout, finished with star-embossed gold button shanks and a Chinese dragon brooch honoring his heritage. Paired with fluid, wide-leg trousers trimmed with gold piping, the look balances structure and ease, masculinity and softness, East meets West, pushing tailoring into a more expressive, emotional space.
Thank you, Brian, for trusting me with this moment and allowing me to be part of your Grammys journey. Congratulations, my friend. I love you so much.
