@digitaldesigndays in Milan. I’m posting late because I took a Venice Biennale break after that. Now, here I am using my bragging rights as I had the honor of presenting my first talk “Brain + Eyes + Robots” on the Aqua stage for DDD’s 10-year anniversary edition.
A huge thank you to
@filippopsr and the entire DDD team for the trust, not just to take one of the cherished spots on stage as a speaker, but to design the promo and the main look that lived across the venue for all three days. Seeing your own visuals stretched across the event you’re speaking at is a feeling I don’t think I’ll forget.
I’m humbled by the messages and conversations that followed the talk, and still buzzing from every exchange with friends I hadn’t seen in too long, and with people I’m thrilled to now call new ones, about where our industry is, where it’s drifting, and where we want to push it.
I wasn’t able to watch many talks, but loved the energy/message from both
@laundry_studios PJ Richardson and
@buck_design @emily_rickard the coolness and authority of
@studioanrk , the insightful retrospective by Yates Buckley from
@unit9ltd the thoughts-provoking
@simon_clowes the punked up talk by
@frankiecaradonna and the closing one by
@madebymonks Wesley ter Haar. Sad I missed
@digitalkitchen and Stefan Sagmeister that were directly clashing with mine.
Shoutout to The Visual Agency for gifting a #Talkscapes poster to every speaker and to mega talented artist (not AI)
@muda_cap for live sketching some of the speakers, me included. Unexpected and much appreciated.
