Use Knife

Next week we’re starting our spring tour. First, March 26, we play at @tremorpdl at the Açores on the same day as @abdullahminiawyofficial , @aya_yco and @arsenal_mikebe ft HHY @jonathan.uliel.saldanha . We play at some secret location at 18h30. After that we make a stop in Portugal to play at @festival_impulso at Caldas da Rainha and after that we’ll play at the lovely @ragesacree festival at @petitbain in Paris. Really looking forward to finally seeing Saint Abdullah & Eomac @inshallahlaland @ianmcdonnellmusic live. Great line-up. There was a lot of planning involved in this little tour, so we’re really happy it’s finally happening. The week after, April 4, we’ll play a gig in @atelier210 in Brussels (Etterbeek, but they told me to say that it’s actually not that far!) with local legends @monstera_occulta and @nazaninyalda Hope to see you at one of these shows! We kijken er enorm naar uit om Saint Abdullah @inshallahlaland & Eomac @ianmcdonnellmusic eindelijk live te zien. Geweldige line-up. Er is heel wat planning aan deze kleine tour voorafgegaan, dus we zijn blij dat het eindelijk zover is. De week erna, op 4 april, spelen we een concert in Atelier 210 in Brussel (Etterbeek, maar ik moest zeggen dat het eigenlijk niet zo ver is!) met de lokale legendes @monstera_occulta en @nazaninyalda . Finally! Today we release our 2nd album État Coupable through @viernulvier.gent Records. We’re very happy to share this with you! It’s been a long but fulfilling road and we’re very proud that we managed to deepen our collaboration and friendship through this process and we hope you can hear that! On their previous album, the songs had mostly materialized from ideas @kwintenmordijck and @stefirritant had already partially developed, since they had already worked together extensively. Whereas paint in the first album was more focused on texture in Demain Sera Mieux I focused more on shape. The palestinian flag colours juxtaposed against the ever changing shapes of the paint are metaphors for resilience and overcoming. Finally received this beautiful cassette in the mail: ‘Gaza Is the Moral Compass’, a compilation album in solidarity with the people of Gaza and all those resisting genocide, occupation, and colonial violence. The cassette is already sold out and made 3650$ which was split between Seeds of Hope, Gaza (@seedsofhopegaza ) and Reviving Gaza | Mutual Aid (@reviving.gaza ) which are both sustaining frontline, community-based work in Gaza. Tonight, you can listen to the 38th episode of ‘Feeding the Gentry’ on @RadioalHara . We invited our friend @hussein_rassim to do a guestmix. Hussein Rassim is an Iraqi musician and oud player based in Brussels, Belgium. He is known for blending traditional Iraqi music with contemporary genres like jazz, rock, and pop. Fun fact: at one of our concerts Hussein replaced Saif on vocals and it was great! What a voice! His guestmix includes a lot of Iraqi classics and some songs featuring Hussein, including a recording from his band @tarab_machine : Che Mali Wali, an Iraqi song we also made a version of on our latest album. Which one’s best? This was @tremorpdl at Açores 🇵🇹, @festival_impulso in Caldas da Rainha 🇵🇹 & @ragesacree @petitbain in Paris 🇫🇷 « This logic of sharing reached its peak at the end of the show, when the band invited members of the audience, including children, to join the performance, picking up instruments and actively participating in the sound that had been presented to them. This gesture completely dissolved the boundary between stage and audience, transforming the experience into a true collective construction, giving concrete form to the idea that, even amidst pain, it is possible to rehearse other forms of community. » @rimasebatidas Thanks to all that made this happen.
