Out on Ruptured, Friday July 4th: Crashing waves dance to the rhythm set by the broadcast journalist revealing the tragedies of the day A new collaborative album by Charbel Haber, Nicolás Jaar, and Sary Moussa. Recorded live on August 2, 2024, at Tunefork Studios in Beirut—during the Israeli aggression against Lebanon—the album was improvised in a single session. No overdubs, no edits. Just electric guitar, bass clarinet, electronics, and live signal processing, shaped in real time. There is no narrative imposed. Just sound, unfolding in the conditions of its capture—immediate, unfiltered, and marked by what surrounded it. All three artists bring long-standing experimental practices grounded in improvisation, critical inquiry, and responsiveness to context. Mixed by Fadi Tabbal and Sary Moussa at Tunefork. Photography and text by Charbel Haber. Design by Carla Aouad. Released as RPTD066 in a limited edition of 150 cassettes, with digital also available. Now streaming and available via Ruptured. @barbelbaber @nicolasjaar @sssaarry @carlaouad @fadi_tabbal @tuneforkstudios @0p__0__

Two years in the making, I thought I was writing a personal album .. it’s not. There is a lot to say but the best way I can describe it is being caught in a never-ending storm, drifting between struggling for a bit of control and complete surrender Anyway .. This would never exist/be the same without the people in it and around it @juliasabra @abed_kobeissy @fadi_tabbal @paedconca @pas_makdous @tuneforkstudios @h1ggg1ns @maziyarpahlevan @nouayda @rayya.badran @carlaouad @nicolasjaar @0p__0__ Thank you for trusting me and for being there. Infinite love to you.

Showing @sharjahart biennial 16 𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴 A 33:49 minutes composition that melds together the vibrations of two bodies: the saz and water. The piece captures a process of decay caused by the presence of water whereby the submerged strings and body of the saz deteriorate gradually, creating unexpected resonances that draw on the presence or absence of water and life around it.

On 16 May, the electro-acoustic work will be performed live in Paris, bringing together Laurence Sammour – longtime choirmaster of Bethlehem’s Church of the Nativity – with Beirut-based artists Sary Moussa and Abed Kobeissy. Commissioned by Wonder Cabinet, the project began in 2023, when Bethlehem cancelled Christmas celebrations amid the ongoing genocide in Palestine. Sammour’s recordings of Christmas hymns were sent to Moussa and Kobeissy, who reshaped them into a work first broadcast via Radio Alhara and relayed by stations around the world. Swipe for the story behind the project. Presented by @wonder.cabinet and @radioalhara . Follow @crackmagazine for more music and culture news.

@SceneNoise #NoiseNews: Originally titled ‘Christmas in Mourning’, ‘Bethlehem’ is a collaborative composition between Lawrence Sammour, the 86-year-old choirmaster of Bethlehem’s Church of the Nativity, and Beirut-based electro-acoustic musicians Sary Moussa and Abed Kobeissy. Commissioned for Christmas 2023 - at a time when the streets of Bethlehem (the birthplace of Jesus Christ) fell eerily silent as celebrations were canceled in response to the genocide in Gaza - this work provided a haunting, powerful voice for the region. The collaboration is a rare and profound piece of music that bridges between the sacred hymns of the church and the experimental sonics of Moussa and Kobeissy, that results in a tragic exploration of centuries old tradition reimagined in light of enormous pain and suffering. On the evening of May 16th, the echoes of one of the world’s most ancient cities will resonate in the heart of Montreuil. For the first time in France, the trio will be performing live at Le Bal Chavaux alongside bassist Makram Aboul Hosn, with a second show in Lyon for the Nuits Sonores Festival on May 17th. The evening will begin at 8PM with an opening performance by Charbel Haber, a legendary figure in Lebanon’s alternative music scene since the late 1990s. Haber’s work is a masterclass in using sound to explore memory, decay, and the political landscapes of the Middle East, setting a somber and speculative tone for the main event. Get your tickets through Tzkrti, DICE, or Bal Chavaux’s tickets platform. Join us on Friday 10 April at 13:45 for a special afternoon! Page Not Found is honoured to invite Sary Moussa as a special guest for this edition of @rewirefestival as part of our ongoing collaboration with the festival. 🗓 Friday 10 April, 13:45-14:45 🎟 Free—no Rewire festival ticket needed! 📍 Page Not Found Sary Moussa’s work and collaborative projects shape sound into a space where cultural memory, vulnerability, and experimentation coexist with rare emotional clarity. Ahead of his performance at Rewire, Sary joins Abed Kobeissy—his long term collaborator, for an intimate listening session and open conversation at Page Not Found. Conceived as a shared space for attentive listening and reflection, the session unfolds between played excerpts, fragments, references, and dialogue. Participants are invited to engage deeply to listen beyond melody, genre, and the visible structures of performance and to consider music as a site where identity, method, and environment resonate together. Sary Moussa is a musician who has been an active member of Beirut's underground scene for around two decades. Specialising in sound design and textural experimentation, Moussa's work spans drone-driven electro-acoustic compositions to dance-floor electronics. ❗️❗️Due to the unforeseen last-minute circumstances this session is taking place partially online ❗️ ❗️ Abed Kobeissy is a Beirut-based musician, composer, and producer working across contemporary music, performance, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Centering the buzuq within experimental and contemporary contexts, his work explores an unapologetically confused present-day Levant, drawing from urban sonic environments. Visual by @bdebaets . Page Not Found is a Centre for Artistic Publishing in The Hague. We are open Wednesday – Sunday, 13:00 – 18:00. #pagenotfoundinvite #denhaag #rewire

UPDATE: Unfortunately, due to events out of our control, Sary Moussa will no longer be able to perform at our residency show this Monday. We were really excited to have him share his incredible album "Wind, Again" live with you all, so we will be playing the album in its entirety from when doors open until the start of the first performance on both the Sunday and Monday, giving the opportunity for a shared listening experience. We have also invited French duo Surface Access to perform their second ever live set during Sary's original slot. See you all soon :) We are excited to invite you to a 2 day label residency in Stockholm on April 26th & 27th, the first of many we hope. This event will offer a glimpse into the diverse musical worlds of the artists who make up Other People. Featuring performances by Alejandra Cárdenas, Surface Access, Cinna Peyghamy, Enxin/Onyx and two performances by Jaar, a live set as Nicolás Jaar and club set with his alias Against All Logic. Having been brought up in an era before streaming, spending our formative years immersed in the live/club music scenes of our respective cities, we know how transformative those shared experiences can be. We hope that these label nights will offer something similar, whether you’re already familiar with the artists and their music or come to it with curious ears, that you will leave having felt something new. Looking forward to seeing you there!!
