Over two days in #WashingtonDC, Building Resilience attendees heard from dozens of corporate leaders, FIFA's head of safety, former FEMA officials, state emergency management directors, nonprofits, and small business owners navigating risk firsthand. Sessions covered disaster mitigation, workforce readiness, housing, insurance, and what effective cross-sector partnerships look like in practice.
We presented new preliminary research with
@verizon that puts data behind the gap between small business confidence and actual preparedness. As one small business owner put it, "I owe it to my community to have a plan in place."
Beyond the main stage, attendees participated in a disaster simulation led by AshBritt and the Caterpillar Foundation, and toured the
@aianational campus to see how design decisions shape community recovery.
