50 days. 50 states. 50 veterans. The For Your Service campaign is here. It all started with an 88-year-old veteran named Ed. Samuel Weidenhofer (@itssozer ) met Ed, who was still working to get by, and launched a GoFundMe to help him retire. People showed up, and together, it changed his life. But Ed’s story raised a bigger question… How many other veterans are still out there facing the same challenges? There are so many veterans and families across the country still facing financial hardship. From housing instability to medical challenges to working well into their later years just to get by. So we are coming together to do something about it. This Military Appreciation Month, GoFundMe is proud to partner with Samuel on For Your Service. A 50-day journey across all 50 states to support 50 veterans and their families and help move them toward lasting financial security. Together, Samuel and GoFundMe has set up this For Your Service Community, a shared space where people can come together, connect, support veterans, and track progress across all 50 states. We’re honored to be part of this journey and help bring these stories to life. Check out the For Your Service Community at the link in our bio. Stay tuned for Samuel’s first stop tomorrow 💚

Raymond served 41 years across the Marines and Army Reserves. He raised three kids, helped raise eleven grandchildren, and when his wife developed dementia he cared for her on his own for as long as he could — never asking for help. Now he is in rehab learning to walk again, staying close to the facility where his wife lives. After 57 years of marriage, this is the first time they have been apart. His daughter Melissa nominated him for For Your Service because there is no other way to say thank you for a lifetime like his. Story told in partnership with @keenanbank . Raymond is part of For Your Service — 50 Veterans. 50 States. 50 Days. — a national movement created by Samuel Weidenhofer (@itssozer ) to support one veteran or veteran's family in every US state. Visit the For Your Service Community via the link in bio and search "Pennsylvania" to find Raymond's fundraiser. 💚🇺🇸

This past week, we had the privilege of sharing the stories of veterans and veteran families from Connecticut, Rhode Island, Wisconsin, Vermont, New Jersey, and Indiana as part of For Your Service — 50 Veterans. 50 States. 50 Days. Each story was different, but all of them reflected the sacrifices veterans have made and the challenges many continue to face long after their service ends. Created by Samuel Weidenhofer (@itssozer ), this national movement is helping ensure veterans and their families feel seen, supported, and not alone. Every donation matters. Every share helps change a life. Visit the For Your Service Community at the link in bio to support veterans in your state. 💚🇺🇸

If you’re looking for a little good news heading into the weekend, here it is 💚 A man who returned a stolen bag containing a beloved dog’s ashes after finding it in a dumpster, and is now getting support as he moves into his first apartment after years of homelessness. A Howard University senior who crossed the graduation stage after community support helped cover the balance keeping them from receiving their degree. A hiker who crossed nearly 150 miles of Pennsylvania trails to raise money for trail preservation. And a caregiver making the most of every moment with his godfather through road trips, travel, and everyday adventures. All beautiful examples of kindness and community showing up for one another. Swipe to meet this week’s fundraisers — links in bio.

Ken is 85 years old and served in the Air Force, where he survived a tragic barracks fire that took the lives of seven fellow airmen. He continues to honor them to this day. After his service, Ken worked for Eastern Airlines before losing most of his pension when the company shut down. At 65, he found joy working as a ticket taker for the Boston @redsox , where he was named Ticket Taker of the Year in 2025. He still works today to help make ends meet. Those closest to him know him as “Dearie,” a nickname lovingly given to him by his late wife, Junelle. The two were married for nearly 45 years before she passed away from cancer in 2017. Ken still visits her every day, sharing updates about their children and six grandchildren. Ken is part of For Your Service — 50 Veterans. 50 States. 50 Days. — a national movement created by Samuel Weidenhofer (@itssozer ) to support one veteran or veteran’s family in every U.S. state. Visit the For Your Service Community via the link in bio and search “Massachusetts” to find Ken’s fundraiser. 💚

$1 million raised in just 12 days 💚 What started with one 88-year-old veteran named Ed has grown into something much bigger. Through For Your Service — a 50-day journey across all 50 states — @itssozer and the GoFundMe community are helping veterans and their families facing financial hardship, housing instability, medical challenges, and more. Over the past 12 days, people across the country have shown up in an incredible way for veterans battling cancer, working into their 80s to make ends meet, recovering from loss, and carrying burdens many never see. This is what community looks like. People coming together to remind one another they are not alone. Visit the For Your Service Community at the link in our bio to follow the journey and support veterans across all 50 states.

Every year for her birthday, Trish celebrates by giving back to a cause she cares about 💚 This year, she’s taking on a 100-mile hiking challenge across Pennsylvania in support of the Keystone Trails Association, an organization dedicated to protecting and preserving hiking trails across the state. Some spaces become more than businesses, they become part of the community 💚 A crafter hoping to bring a community-focused yarn café to Buffalo. A family-owned smokehouse recovering after devastating inventory loss. A longtime restaurant fighting to stay open after years of setbacks. A Queer and BIPOC-owned community hub expanding with a new kitchen. An animal hospital rebuilding after a devastating break-in. Different stories. Different challenges. One thing in common: people showing up to help keep these spaces going. Swipe through, share their stories, and support if you can. Link in bio 💚

Tim is an Indiana-based Marine veteran who spent decades serving his country, raising four children, and working nearly 50 years in construction to support his family. After being diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2024, Tim was forced to stop working and lost his insurance while undergoing treatment. He reached remission earlier this year, but now faces major home repair needs while continuing to recover. Tim is part of For Your Service — 50 Veterans. 50 States. 50 Days. — a national movement created by Samuel Weidenhofer (@itssozer ) to support one veteran or veteran’s family in every U.S. state. Story told in partnership with @keenanbank . Visit the For Your Service Community via the link in bio and search “Indiana” to find Tim’s fundraiser. 💚🇺🇸

Our hearts are with everyone impacted by the devastating tornadoes across Mississippi 💚 The GoFundMe community is coming together to help individuals and families facing immediate needs and beginning the long road to recovery. To support those affected, we’ve created a centralized hub of verified fundraisers and nonprofits providing relief on the ground. Every fundraiser featured has been verified by our Trust & Safety team, and we’ll continue updating the hub as more fundraisers are verified. Visit the link in our bio to explore the hub and help communities rebuild and recover.

If you needed a reminder that people show up for animals when it matters most… this is it 💚 This week’s animal fundraisers include a beloved dog and mascot named Gremlin fighting for life-saving surgery, a yellow-crowned amazon bird rescue in need of urgent medical care, a therapy dog now needing support of her own, a rescued horse recovering after severe neglect, and a future Eagle Scout building turtle basking platforms for local wildlife. Every story is different, but they all share one thing in common: people doing everything they can for the animals they love, and communities stepping in to help. Take a moment to explore, donate if you can via the link in bio, or share to help spread the word. Every bit of support makes a difference 💚

A MILLION DOLLARS raised in 12 days. 🇺🇸❤️ @gofundme I honestly can’t believe I’m even writing that. 12 days ago, we started travelling across America with one goal: Help one Veteran in every state. Since then, we’ve met Veterans battling terminal cancer, elderly men still working into their 80s, families losing homes, and people silently carrying pain while feeling forgotten by the world 😭 And somehow… millions of strangers came together to change their lives. This mission means so much more to me than money. When I was younger I lost my aunty Rosie to suicide. Ever since then, I think I’ve carried this deep feeling of wanting people to feel seen, loved, and cared for… especially during their darkest moments. Because I know how heavy life can feel. So seeing this community raise over one million dollars for Veterans and their families in just 12 days has honestly changed me forever. This is what social media should be about. People coming together to remind other people they are not alone 🥹
