As America celebrates its 250th anniversary, leaders should embrace free market principles that drive opportunity, growth, and innovation, or risk holding ourselves back. U.S. Chamber President and CEO Suzanne P. Clark explains why and what’s at stake during her State of American Business address. Clark’s main message: the state of American business must be “growth-oriented, market-driven, future-focused—but above all, fearless.” Clark noted that embracing free enterprise stands in marked contrast to the alternatives—decisions that she said are based on fear. “Free enterprise is the system that enables businesses to respond to people and to respond to problems,” said Clark. “We need it to solve the great challenges of our time—future generations will need it to solve the great challenges of their time.” By championing bold, pro-growth policies, Clark says we can create a future where every American has the chance to thrive. The 2026 State of American Business is a call to action for all of us—fearless, hopeful, and focused on building a brighter future for our families and communities. 🔗 Learn more and watch her address at the link in bio. #StateofAmericanBusiness

📆 This week from the Chamber: We continue to bring business, policy, and purpose together, convening leaders to tackle today’s most pressing geopolitical and economic challenges while showing up for our nation’s veterans through expanded pathways to workforce opportunities. 🔹@HiringOurHeroes and the Lowe's Foundation brought together nonprofit, industry, and national leaders on Capitol Hill to celebrate the Skilled Trades Academy's success — placing more than 88% of graduates into jobs within three months — and to announce what's next for scaling the model to close America's growing trades gap. At the event, Hiring Our Heroes was the recipient of a $1.5 million grant from the Lowe’s Foundation, one of the company’s largest-ever, which will expand the Skilled Trades Academy to three new locations: the National Capital Region, Baltimore, and San Antonio. 🔹Now in its 16th year, we held the U.S. Chamber's China Business Conference, the premier U.S. forum for exchanging ideas on U.S.-China economic and commercial relations. The annual event brings together business leaders, public officials, and policy experts to discuss the latest developments, shape policy agendas, and advance constructive ties. This year's program focused on geopolitical risk, technology and industrial competition, and industrial overcapacity — and explored the future of U.S.-China investment and commercial cooperation.

Last week at our 2026 Health Summit, we officially launched our Health Policy Center, cementing the business community’s role in shaping the future of health care. The Center will advance policies that empower innovation and help improve access, affordability, and outcomes so America’s health system remains competitive. Our Health Policy Lead, Lexi Branson, reflected on how the Center will strengthen and accelerate America’s health advantage and why business must stay engaged in the health policy conversation. A core focus of the Health Policy Center is protecting and strengthening employer-provided coverage—the backbone of health security for workers and families and a foundation of a strong economy. From manufacturers to software to the supply chain that keeps astronauts going, Artemis II shows what America can do when government & industry work together. Bringing a perspective from the on-the-ground at the launch in Florida, the U.S. Chamber’s Benjamin Kron and John Neal break down why Artemis II is a proving ground for a public-private partnership model that works: NASA leads design and integration while American industry builds and sustains the capability, creating jobs and growth nationwide.
