Our 4th album, "Jupiter" is out today on Thrill Jockey Records. It contains a bunch of songs about the unknowable enormity of the universe, one Husker Du cover, lots of crusty Voyager Golden Record samples, and guest appearances by @hkeastburn@yesreality and Todd Bailey.
Our artwork is yet again courtesy of the inimitable @nolen_strals . Nolen always sends us thoughtful notes about his choices, and this time he proposed more diversity of colors both because of the expanded palette of the planet Jupiter, and the expanded sonic palette of the album. Our own Jeff O correctly pointed out that the album cover also looks like nachos.
Big thanks to @seriousbizrec for recording this beast, @_sarah_register for mastering, and @thrilljockey for facilitating our explorations.
Venus came out two years ago today. Lots of 2023 going on around here, but it’s nice to look back at this ungainly toddler wobbling around the cosmos and pinch it’s cheeks. Big ol’ happy birthday to LP3 🚀💚🎉
Not gonna lie, just posting this to pin it up next to the other two planets and look badass.
Mars came out Oct 19th 2018, so it’s not remotely an anniversary, but hey it looks/sounds pretty good and there’s a reason we still close our shows with “Wine Flies”.

Upper Wilds gave an awesome performance here and Dan handed out homemade brownies that Jeff’s mom made.
I used two different cameras, the saturated lights made it challenging w/o my flash.

Cleveland’s @lotteryleague started in 2007, and will be randomly forming *43* new bands out of 172 northern-Ohio players at this event, followed by the festive shredding of Upper Wilds. Honored to partake in this madness.
