A couple weeks late, but UNO percussionists had a great time participating at the @pasnebraska Day of Percussion a few weeks ago! Highlights included:
UNO samba bateria performing in the afternoon concert and joining UNL steel band for a bangin’ closer
Grad student Ayden Maher and undergrad @edstaplers winning solo competition categories and performing in the closing concert
Grad student @kylepaoletti_music presenting a clinic on his research “Syncing Senses”
Grad student @danieljimenez.mr.j presenting a clinic on his research “Percussion & Rhythm Through Hand Signs”

We always love to see our students out and about, pursuing their interests beyond their immediate school environment! Congrats to master’s student @kylepaoletti_music for his presentation at West Virginia University this past week. Kyle was invited to share his research on “Syncing Senses,” a series of recitals involving interdisciplinary collaborations to heighten audience engagement. Our busy week continued with a mock orchestra audition adjudicated by @omahasymphony Principal Timpanist @jack.rago Principal Percussionist Paul Matthews and Assistant Principal Percussionist @derektdreier
Students competed in two rounds of percussion & timpani excerpts. Congrats to @kylepaoletti_music for placing first in the timpani portion and @musicmanjack572 & @edstaplers for placing 1st and 2nd in the percussion portion!
