I have a lil piece of music/sound up now as part of the @citiesandmemory Autumn Project. RIYL Norwegian insects, background hiss and smoky just-about-tuned percussion
"Cities and Memory is a global sound art and field recording project. It features more than 6,000 sounds from over 120 countries and territories. The project consists of a global map, on which each location features two sounds: the original field recording of the place, and a remixed version of that sound by a sound artist/composer. More than 1,600 sound artists from around the world have contributed to the project so far."
They've just put out a really nice compilation raising funds for kids in Palestine via Hope and Play. Links in the bio!
This month's Srenity Now is the 67th show and also the last one, I have absolutely loved doing it and being a part of Noods Radio for five and a large bit years.
Every show took up a lot of brain space in the weeks prior and I tried to put as much of myself into it (as much as someone who is mainly playing other people's music can anyway) with voice notes/sound clips/field recordings/v. amateur turntablism/bonus layers etc etc etc. The Great Exhibition Of The North show was a lot of fun and loads of people sent clips in (cheers!!!), the Orkney one turned out great, and trying to avoid the standard creepy/dark stuff for Halloween usually worked out too. The guest shows from Vera Dvale and Christian Dugstad were superb as was Mike's last minute takeover in February this year which I listened to live in an RVI hospital bed on Operation Drugs. Felt very surreal.
There was brand new ambient(ish) music included every month and looking for and listening to it kept me going.
So yeah infinite thanks very much to all the musicians as well as the people who contributed, listened or sent nice messages. Infinite thanks to the Noods crew too for letting me on there and for all the support ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
