17 months. Over 100 emails. 7 prototypes. 1 Ultra Sling. I’ve had hands-on experience with over 70 Aer products over the years, and they’ve consistently made some of my favorites. So when we got the chance to build something together, we went all in. My favorite detail? The quick-access front pocket. Three sections separated by elastic panels that create an accordion shape. No fumbling with tight internal pockets. You just drop your gear in and go. It’s a small thing, but it’s the kind of detail that comes from testing hundreds of slings. I carried prototypes through eight countries. Rain in Costa Rica, motorbikes in Bangkok, Mexico City sun, cafés, airports, and everyday travel in between. After all of that, I can say with confidence: we got it right. The first release sold out in under a minute. The NYC launch event was a highlight. Nothing beats sharing something you built with fellow Pack Hackers in person. We had the store at max capacity for most of the day. Stay tuned for more collabs in 2026 @packhacker @aer_sf

Happy 50th, @shoglund2000 🎉 I met Shawn, AKA ‘The Hog,’ back in 2011 when we were both at @space150 - it took us a bit to warm up to each other, but when he became my manager and creative director, I knew I had to find a way to get along with the guy! Once he gave me the nickname ‘The Whale,’ I knew I was officially part of his animal kingdom of creatives. From moving to NYC together and sharing an apartment in DUMBO to late-night pitch sessions and cocktail adventures, we’ve shared some amazing times. I’ve always admired Shawn’s endless curiosity and ability to dive deep on pretty much any subject. Alongside telling you how he really feels about a situation—someone so direct was rare in Minnesota and it worked really well in NYC. He’s also influenced so much of my systems thinking when it comes to design and business in general. A couple of weeks ago, we celebrated Shawn’s 50th with an unforgettable crew. We savored mezcal, soaked in the art and architecture at @casawabi , and kicked back at our gorgeous Puerto Escondido villa. But the real highlight? All 16 of us revealing t-shirts with Shawn’s face on the @prince self-titled album. Here’s to many more memories, Hog!

Rave recap from the middle of a farm field: @greatbeyondmn with @jayqwellan The intimate size of this psychedelic techno festival (~900 people) reminds me of @mindgames.labyrinth in Japan. Spanning three days with international DJs in a magical setting, it’s no surprise RA voted it one of the best festivals of 2024.
