One possible map to navigate a collection of 250+ small loops.

In this interactive audio-visual performance, devices are connected through a website to create a polyphonic ensemble. The speaker’s range, the screen’s colors, the connection speed... all become distinctive traits that contribute to the live set. Guided by a performer’s voice, the public is invited to re-engage with their familiar devices in unfamiliar ways. Attention and intention become a lens to examine the choreography of gestures around the touchscreen, to unlearn the muscle memory behind common interaction patterns, to touch through the display’s glossy surface. Weaving the individual’s experience with smartphones into a larger context and reflecting on features often taken for granted, Scatter Chatter attempts to make visible and expressive all those gestures normally concealed in the name of a smooth and frictionless experience. ✨ Sabato 20 settembre abbiamo ospitato Scatter Chatter: una ricerca artistica sulle tecnologie assistive e gli smartphones. Questo evento è il risultato di una settimana di residenza artistica presso il nostro spazio a Bergamo. 🔎Scatter Chatter esplora le politiche, l'estetica e la socialità attorno agli smartphone con un approccio performativo e collettivo e indaga su come la tecnologia organizza lo stare assieme e come lo stare assieme influenza la tecnologia. La performance audiovisiva interattiva è scritta e sviluppata da Chaeyoung Kim (Chae) e Francesco Luzzana (Kamo), questa immagina gli smartphone del pubblico come uno strumento in rete dove i dispositivi vengono connessi tra loro per creare un ensemble polifonico. 📲Guidato dalla voce di Chae, il pubblico è invitato ad interagire con i propri dispositivi familiari in modi inusuali. Attenzione e intenzione diventano una lente per osservare la coreografia dei gesti attorno al touchscreen, per disimparare la memoria muscolare alla base dei comuni schemi di interazione, per toccare attraverso la superficie lucida del display. 🌈 In particolare, sabato sera il pubblico ha creato una sinfonia interattiva attraverso l’audio dei diversi smartphone, all’interno della quale ogni dispositivo contribuiva a costruire l’ambiente circostante.
