Since October we’ve filmed @csplaction - The Coalition for Spiritual & Public Leadership's campaign to provide spiritual care within Broadview ICE Detention facility, including on Ash Wednesday, when a judicial order restored access, and clergy provided ashes and communion to a number of recently detained individuals, as well as Homeland Security staff.

First, Between Uncertainty and Hope (21 min, dir. Mirko Popadic, courtesy Media Burn Archive) features Chicagoans protesting immigration raids in 1988. Then, Shouldering Sanctuary (35 min, Truth & Documentary.) follows activists, city council members, businesspeople and artists grappling with what it means for Chicago to be a Sanctuary City during the first year of the second Trump administration. Stay after the screening for a panel discussion with leaders and organizers.
