Team Trifle* headed to Walthamstow E17 yesterday afternoon after an invitation to visit the @vgoodandproper × @isokon.furniture workshop on Blackhorse Road. We were treated to a brilliant tour and presentation exploring the history, craftsmanship and stories behind these two fantastic furniture brands, now sharing both a workshop and a talented team of makers.
We also stopped by a few local legends including @morrisgallery , @wordstoreldn , @bigpennysocial and @hometipple.e17 — plus visited an exciting residential project we’re currently working on in the area.
Sometimes you need to step away from the grind 💻, get out into the world, seek inspiration, and simply spend time together 😊

Sharing a few more before + afters from our East London pub renovation ✨
The client loved the original layout of the snug, so rather than reinventing it, we focused on elevating what was already there. The existing sofa was beautifully refurbished with fresh upholstery and new stuffing, creating a rich focal point for the room. Paired with new stained glass, layered window treatments and a wood burner, the space now feels warm, characterful and unapologetically cosy.
Sometimes the smartest design move isn’t a total overhaul — it’s knowing what deserves to stay.

Probably our standout experience last week was 5VIE — a historic cluster in central Milan, rooted in the old Roman core around Colonne di San Lorenzo and Sant’Ambrogio.
“5VIE” — literally “five streets” — unfolds as a series of intimate, layered spaces (Via Torino, Santa Marta, Santa Maria Podone and beyond), delivering a curated mix of global craft and contemporary design thinking.
Installations feel like pieces you step into and experience, rather than products you’re being sold.
There were far less crowds here too so we appreciated slowing down for a few hours ☺️

Milan’s most bohemian quarter — cobbled streets, candlelit aperitivo bars, design spilling out of every doorway — and during Design Week, it becomes something else entirely. We didn’t get nearly enough time here, but what we found was worth every step.
