Transcript:
Lexi: We have a lot of conversations where we are saying, like, "I can't wait to grow old with you." Like...when I met Zad, he didn't have this many gray hairs...
Zad: (chuckles)
Lexi: But now, like, I'm looking at him and I was like, "Oh my gosh, you look like a father." (laughs) And soon, like, you're gonna be, like, very salt and pepper. I can't wait to grow old with you, like-
Zad: (chuckles) I'm excited for it. I'm like, "Bring it on." I don't even hide my white hairs anymore. I'm like, "Let's just rock with it."
Lexi: It hits very differently as not just, like, to take it to, like, the reality of, like, trans people, but I'm turning thirty-five next year...and the, like, life expectancy for Black trans women is...thirty-five. And I- I- I'd never before, like, having the safety of our relationship and having the safety of the communities that we've built our lives around, thought about myself living to be forty...forty-five...fifty...and so yeah, I think about it every day. I look at him when I wake up, and I see, like, a new gray hair, and I'm like, "Oh my god. We're growing old. That's so exciting.
Zad: Yeah, it is.
