It’s been a huge pleasure working with Sayuri Ichida @the_final_view and helping bring her vision to life through screenprints on chalk boards for 空席 (Kūseki) inaugural exhibition of the 5th @jerwood_foundation @photoworks_uk awards. This weekend marks the final chance to see the exhibitions in London before they tour to Barnsley Civic, Ffotogallery, and Streetlevel Photo Works. We’re very much looking forward to the opening of the inaugural exhibition of the 5th Jerwood/Photoworks @jerwood_foundation @photoworks_uk Awards, opening 10 January 2026 at Drawing Room @drawingroomlondon | Tannery Arts @tanneryarts . The exhibition brings together new work by Sayuri Ichida @the_final_view and Roman Manfredi @butchfemmelove . Manfredi’s work titled TRA moves between still and moving image, portraiture and film, exploring identity, place and transformation through the charged landscape of Napoli. Ichida’s 空席 (Kūseki) responds to Japan’s shrinking rural communities, combining photography, collage, sound and sculptural installation to reflect on absence, memory and quiet disappearance. It has been a great pleasure working with Sayuri Ichida on this body of work, and a privilege to realise her vision through the printing of her photographic collages on chalkboards. We’re excited to see these powerful, nuanced bodies of work presented together and to celebrate the opening tomorrow. We had a great pleasure working closely with artist Parks Sadler @by_parkss on his latest work ‘Always it will remain..’ 2026, a series of silkscreen prints on cotton bedsheets, each panel 150 × 40 cm. Sadler, a London-based artist originally from North Carolina and MA graduate from Central Saint Martins, continues his exploration of the “active archive” — where material holds personal and collective memory. His practice moves through photography, sculpture, and printmaking, reflecting on queer identity, intimacy, and transformation. On view at Palazzo Mora as part of the European Cultural Centre’s @ecc_italy ‘Personal Structures’, in conjunction with the 61st Venice Biennale @venice.art.biennale . 9 May – 22 Nov 2026. Emerging through research, material, and myth — a new large-scale project begins to take form. This body of work draws inspiration from Baubo, the mythological goddess of irreverence, exposure, and transformative laughter. Historically a figure of disruption and healing, Baubo challenges conventions of the body, visibility, and power — themes that resonate deeply within contemporary practice. Through expanded scale and sculptural presence, this project explores “surfacing” as both gesture and concept: what is revealed, what is concealed, and what insists on being seen. Proofing stage of a 7-colour silkscreen edition on Radiant White Somerset paper, paired with a screen-printed 7-colour collage on Tosa Washi 28 gsm Japanese paper. It’s a real pleasure to be working on this piece with a dear friend and very talented London-based photographer and filmmaker, Almantas Petkunas @almantas.p as part of his new body of work. The images live in an extremely fine grain, so during the printing process we had to carefully recreate an analogue dot structure to achieve the misty, haunted texture that defines the series. A beautiful moment in the process - when technique, paper, and image finally start speaking the same language. Opening ‘Pitreries’ by Luana Duvoisin Zanchi @biblioteka_library 📍 We’re thrilled to celebrate this new exhibition and the powerful, material language Luana brings to the space. A visual artist and educator based in South East London, Luana (b. 1991, Bogotá) works across sculpture, print and installation, weaving together research, myth and embodied knowledge. For Pitreries, we had the pleasure of collaborating on a 6 colour silkscreen on paper alongside a striking piece of blown glass. The works emerge from Luana’s ongoing study of Baubo — the mythic figure associated with exposure, laughter and the generative power of the body — exploring concealment, revelation and feminine agency through material form. Luana holds an MFA in Sculpture from the Royal College of Art and has exhibited across London, continuing to shape thoughtful, research-led practices through her work and teaching.
