Some pics of 𝘗𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘺𝘱𝘦, made with @rebekkabank and shown some time ago for the “So n So” exhibition at @treehouse.ndsm and curated by @klaudiakceramics and @marcus.warnheim 🌱

The installation takes its name from phorophytes, plants that act as living support structures for other plants. Developed as part of @studiomist.duo ongoing research, 𝘗𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘺𝘱𝘦 explores the dynamics of a gathering through objects that do not function in isolation, but as parts of a larger ecosystem.

“𝘉𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘪𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘱, 𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨” was a small intervention made with @rebekkabank for the @amsterdam.art week at @de_sering The work features a series of hand-sewn tea towels and an engraved bread board. These objects—or better, tools—are not meant merely to be observed but are integrated into the dinner at De Sering as activated sculptures, becoming part of the event’s culinary choreography.

🌿 Introducing some of the incredible collaborators helping bring Forgotten Gardens to life. We’re excited to spotlight the faces who are shaping this experience with us. Stay tuned as we continue to share more about the amazing people behind the scenes. MIST is an artist duo comprising @rebekkabank (Denmark) and @tomastmt (Italy). They produce sculptural objects, performances, and installations into fictional narratives that inspire reflection on contemporary life and invite us to reconsider humanity’s place within the interconnected web of everyday life. Rebekka’s practice also incorporates cooking and she will be preparing the majority of the food for the event. Tomastmt is crafting many of the vessels and serving dishes specifically for this event. @bunny.hannah (Canada) works across art management and event production, creating spaces where artistic practice and community come together. By exploring the intersection of cultural programming she brings people together to share conversations and experiences. @nicostrattoria (Italy) brings the taste of his home, with his own twist, to Amsterdam. He leads workshops that create a unique learning and culinary experience, while sharing his love for Italian comfort food. Nico is hand-making the pasta for the main course, crafted specially for this dinner. He is also developing the vegan and gluten free versions so that everyone can enjoy his work. @paolo_notaristefano (Italy) is an multidisciplinary artist and musician. His work moves between ambient, noise, and post-punk, blending raw sound textures with visual art and live improvisation. Throughout the evening, Paolo will be performing Tuftupa, an audiovisual performance combining ambient music and painting blending atmospheric soundscapes with visual art, creating immersive, meditative experiences that blur the boundaries between sound and image.

🌱 Forgotten Gardens is a dining experience that explores the living material that nourishes us. Following a seasonal menu, we invite you to explore gardens in all their forms: those that bloom through community, take root in our imaginations, and have the potential to flourish in our own surroundings. In these gardens, a story unfolds — one that reconnects us to the land and offers an alternative to large, alienating food systems. Each dish is a chapter in this narrative, inspired by gardening concepts and shaped in collaboration with artists, makers, and growers. Together, we reclaim the garden as a local food source and a space for transformation. 🌼 📅 Saturday, May 3rd (& 4th, based on demand), walk-in from 18h30, dinner starting at 19h 📍 Contact, Contactweg 47, 1014 AN Amsterdam 🎟️ By donation between 35€ and 65€ (drinks not included) Reserve your spot via the link in bio Join us for a vegetarian 4-course dinner (vegan options available) accompanied by storytelling, poetry, and live sound performance!
