𝑯𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒐 𝒅𝒂𝒓𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝑾𝒆𝒍𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒉𝒐𝒎𝒆 19th of October 204 - 30th of March 2025 @centraalmuseum —— ——— Aagaard Jensen (1990, Esbjerg, Denmark) presents her striking and colourful works alongside works curated from the museum’s collection. With this arrangement of works, Aagaard Jensen challenges traditional gender roles and the underrepresentation of feminine forms, with both humour and audacity. Aagaard Jensen has curated modern period rooms using her works and items from the museum’s collection, each featuring its own ‘hostess’. The idea of a female inhabited space inspired Aagaard Jensen’s curatorial process. Everyday objects in the galleries, such as food, clothing, furniture, and a laid table, set the stage for contemporary scenes of life lived in the 15h-century Agnieten Convent. It’s the oldest part of what is now Centraal Museum. In Another Story, the curated rooms serve as a backdrop for stories that you, as a guest of the artist, are invited to imagine; welcome home, darling.

Anna Aagaard Jensen explores the intersection of sculpture, design, and the politics of the body. Through furniture-like forms, the artist transforms familiar domestic objects into charged sculptural propositions. Her works challenge conventions of beauty, utility, and gender, embracing softness, humor, and bodily excess as forms of resistance. Following her recent solo presentation at Centraal Museum, works by Anna Aagaard Jensen are currently on view at KERSGALLERY Amsterdam. By creating connections with youth, we can provide them with opportunities, foster their passions, and encourage experimentation in design and beyond.
