Restored with care, vision and a deep respect for its heritage, the Queenscliff Hotel has been brought beautifully back to life.
A considered collaboration between owners Rob and Tammy and architects and interior designers, @molecule_studio , the project honours the building’s grand past while introducing a new layer of contemporary luxury — every detail thoughtfully resolved, from the reimagined suites to the revival of its iconic spaces.
A true credit to all involved in shaping this next chapter.
It was a privilege to attend the opening night and experience the hotel reawakened — filled with energy, warmth and a sense of occasion once more.
And, on a personal note, a particularly special moment to be back here just weeks after our own wedding anniversary — celebrated in this very place 16 years ago.

We love returning to old projects
to see how they’ve aged —
in form, feeling and relevance.
This is The Commons, Hobart.
A pioneering build in its time,
and a privilege to have project managed.
Bold in ambition.
Carbon-positive.
Regenerative by design.
It went on to receive global recognition,
and still holds a generous presence
in the Hobart cityscape today.
Landscaping was always integral —
for pollinators, biodiversity, cooling the city,
and our innate biophilic connection.
But good design doesn’t end at handover.
Some areas still thrive.
Others tell a different story —
plants lost, systems under strain.
This is the real test of regenerative work:
how ideas live on through changing tenants,
maintenance regimes and time itself.
Good buildings age.
Great buildings evolve — and continue to inspire
Sixteen years on, it was great to return to Falls Creek and see @stfallsresort still looking strong.
The project was a unique challenge — with construction paused each winter, it took four years to deliver. The result has stood up well to the alpine environment and remains a landmark at the village base.
