New work showing 23-24 February at the Aberdeen Music Hall during the Granite Noir crime writing festival #granitenoir and commissioned by Aberdeen Performing Arts @aberdeenperformingarts and New Media Scotland @mediascot The rock solid facts of the Music Hall and surrounding streets morph into fiction as the shadows cast across their granite surfaces mingle with flickering synthetic impressions generated by AI from Police Scotland news headlines. Sitting on the bench nearby one feels these reports of current police work materialise through bone conduction and vibration, their text converted into the sounds of metal striking stone: the hard physical labour that built the city over centuries. #installation #digitalart #aiart #soundart #sitespecific

Somewhere In The Universe It Rains Diamonds (Aether) now on view - and hear and feel - in the Basement Galleries at Summerhall today through Sunday 10-6:
When stars die they bombard us with cosmic rays, invisible particles that stream through us constantly. Somewhere In the Universe it Rains Diamonds (Aether) makes you feel them in your bones. As our collective attention increasingly turns to a disembodied meta-verse, this work seeks to engage you viscerally with the real one.
