Still carrying the feeling of "Dreams that Wake" with me days later. I had the opportunity to ask, “What water do you dream of?” — both during the artist talk and through Random Waters, a photographic installation of shellstone and sandstone tiles, translating digitally traced waterscapes into tactile objects. Something about that space at Bardo Projektarium ( @bardo_projektraum ) felt like stepping into a shared subconscious: soft, strange, a little unsettling, but also deeply human. I’m deeply grateful to have been part of this and to such a fantastic team and brilliant human souls @baselnaouri @harshinijk_ , and @multicolormarta who made this wonder happen. Honoured to be exhibited alongside with @meyseifan @ta.la.fa , and without the support of @karnekunst , none of this would have been possible. With @threeamenergy @slowfuture_studio @timelab.slowfuture @manifest.io.berlin Thank you to everyone who came, stayed, listened, felt. These are the moments that linger. Documented by @harshinijk_ P.S. Also, swipe to the last photo where I apparently turn into Fantômas - unplanned, for sure, but somehow fitting

Reflecting on my 'Eternal Shadows' installation part of the 'Dreams that wake' exhibition last month at @bardo_projektraum Unfolding from this space of waking, where what has been erased refuses to disappear. The work traces fragments of lives in Gaza, gestures, routines, stories, and relationships to land and architecture that no longer exist in physical form, yet remain deeply present. These fragments are the shadows of the project, not literal traces, but lingering impressions that continue to shape memory and experience. Rather than focusing on destruction as an event, the project listens to what endures beyond it. It centers voices, memories, and stories shared by people in Gaza, found in the details of how life was lived and how space was inhabited. Thank you for everyone who made this happen 🖤 @threeamenergy @timelab.slowfuture

This has been a very special 3 weeks. @baselnaouri and I have been curating for three years together, bootstrapping our way to build @manifest.io.berlin and other events. Being selected by @karnekunst to curate under the topic of "Cartographies of Displacement" has been the first time we've received a grant to create an exhibition. As part of our commitment to support artists, we're very grateful for this opportunity 🙏 In our exhibition "Dreams That Wake" we've been exploring the idea of how displacement affects the subconscious. Together with @multicolormarta , Basel and the @timelab.slowfuture team with @ee.vahnn designed and installed the works at the charming @bardo_projektraum gallery. They collaborated with the artists to find new modes of engagement and building a cohesive scenography. We're really happy to delve further into the works of @mey.seifan , @slowfuture_studio , @lisa.bogachova , and @ta.la.fa . We've also been able to host events with the artists, and even a dream session with @chaskawisdom which was a new experience for us as curators as well, and one I will cherish. It's not over yet. Please join us for the last few days of our wee exhibition 🫶 Dreams that wake runs till March 14, 14hr-19hr. Our finissage on Mar 14th will also host performances. Donations are very much appreciated for us to dedicate more resources towards the artists and team. We have a zine available as well, which we hope you take home with you as a memory of this dreamy exhibition ❤️ See you soon! 💫 #kunstausstellung #newmedia #berlinevent

𝐃𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐖𝐚𝐤𝐞 — Participating Artists Dreams That Wake brings together artists whose practices engage with displacement, memory, architecture, sound, and the subconscious. Basel Naouri (@baselnaouri ) Spatial sound artist and founder of slowfuture, Naouri works at the intersection of architecture and immersive media. His practice shapes both the VR environment of the exhibition and the closing performance Sonic Hinterlands, tracing crossings and sonic geographies. Elizaveta Bogachova (@lisa.bogachova ) Berlin-based conceptual artist working across photography and installation. In Random Waters, digitally traced waterscapes from war-affected territories are translated into sandstone tiles, confronting digital distance with material weight. Mey Seifan (@meyseifan ) Choreographer and curator, Seifan’s long-term Dream Project explores collective trauma and the subconscious. In collaboration with Naouri and slowfuture, How Am I Here? transforms documented nightly dreams into an immersive VR archive. Mohammad Abdallah (@thereal.abdulla ) Singer, songwriter, and co-founder of El Morabba3, Abdallah brings an acoustic performance shaped by displacement and experimentation into the exhibition’s sonic landscape. Tala Fasheh (@juthouri ) Architect and multidisciplinary designer, Fasheh engages erased architectures and lived memories from Gaza in Eternal Shadows, expanding the installation through Tatreez as cultural language and collective practice. NMD MA Graduation Project LET IT FLOW from Thanh Tam Huynh @tam___________ht This project explores softness as a spatial condition, expressed through light, sound, water, and poetry. Softness is approached as something that can be felt, inhabited, and gradually revealed through sensory experience. At the center of the installation is a mechanical music box connected to a motor, generating steady, continuous movement. Sound becomes the guiding structure, activating light, text, and water in response to its rhythm. Together, these elements create a dynamic interplay between hard and soft, control and release. As material and immaterial forces resonate with one another, the space transforms into a field of subtle tension and slow rhythm, where softness emerges as an active, embodied state. NMD MA Grad Project BERLIN’S TECHNO HETEROTOPIA: ARE WE DYING OR BEING BORN? from Gemma Matrone @ge.mtr This project explores Berlin’s techno culture as a form of post-industrial resistance, a space for processing historical trauma and imagining futuristic utopias. Today, the city faces Clubsterben, the “death of clubs” caused by gentrification, rising costs, and commodification. This threatens the authenticity and survival of these cultural spaces. Yet techno began as a liberated zone, a refuge for diversity and marginalized communities. Through its repetitive structure and dark vibrations, it creates an eternal present, a space to lose and rediscover oneself. The audiovisual installation immerses visitors in pulsating energies and surreal atmospheres, echoing the ritual of the Berlin dance floor. Drawing on Foucault, Turner, and Soja, the club is framed as a heterotopic and liminal space where norms dissolve, identities shift, and new possibilities emerge.
