Hongkongers will soon get to experience American musician and singer-songwriter Charles Yang’s (@chazzviolin ) virtuosity as he brings his Ravel, Rhythm & Blues concert to town on May 17, accompanied by Peter Dugan (@peterduganpiano ) on piano. While no stranger to the city, this performance marks his recital debut and promises to be a “genre-blending programme”, with the set list spanning Monti and Ravel to the Beatles and jazz sets. What exactly drives the curiosity of this “rock star” violinist?

What a season. ✨♥️
Over the past nine months, more than 80 performances brought together some of the world’s most extraordinary artists — and the audiences who make it all possible. From the opening notes of Sarabande Africaine to the final bow of This Land, 2025–26 was a season of breadth, beauty, and inspiration.
As our Executive and Artistic Director Jeremy Geffen reflected: “From opera to acrobatics, string quartets to contemporary dance — the one constant was performers’ feedback about how welcomed they felt by our audiences, and how grateful they were to be performing among such thoughtful, attentive, and open-minded patrons.”

Emily Dickinson’s poems are among the most valued works of English literature. Her bold, mysterious, audacious and funny lines have been the starting point for the extraordinary artistic collaboration between Pulitzer Prize winner @composerkevinputs and multiple Grammy winners @joycedidonato and @timeforthree .
“Emily – No Prisoner Be” explores a unique poetic cosmos characterized by deeply felt emotions and existential questions. Although Dickinson led a secluded life, she did not let social expectations or conventions limit her. Her works address topics such as freedom of mind, her own poetry and the search for identity and, thus, often questions faith and social norms.

As National Poetry Month comes to a close, we’re celebrating the enduring power of Emily Dickinson’s words through "Emily – No Prisoner Be," a song cycle by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Kevin Puts inspired by her poems. Opening the work, “They shut me up in Prose” was performed by Joyce DiDonato and Time for Three live in The Greene Space.

Our April Concert was SOOOOOOOO GOOOD! Like ridiculously good! We had FIRST TIME patrons call in our office to purchase 2026/2027 Season Tickets JUST because of their 1st experience with our orchestra at the Time for Three Returns concert! Hearing how our musicians excel at EVERY genre of music put before them humbles me to know that they can ABSOLUTELY perform anywhere in the world and yet CHOOSE to perform with us! This week’s encore brought a whole lot of “Joy” to the stage of Marian Anderson Hall! Student musicians from KIPP West Philadelphia Preparatory Charter School and our All City Orchestra Fellowship brought the house down as they joined Time for Three, Principal Guest Conductor Marin Alsop, and the Orchestra for a special encore performance of Time for Three’s original song “Joy” following this week’s concerts. Moments like this are what music education is all about—congratulations to these talented young musicians, and thanks for joining us!
