The Philadelphia Orchestra turns 125 on November 16, 2025, and we will celebrate the anniversary throughout the entire 2025–26 season! The biggest stars in classical music will join us for an unforgettable season that both honors our past and looks boldly to the future. We will celebrate 125 years of artistry and innovation with performances of masterpieces that were given their world or U.S. premiere by the Orchestra, new commissions from some of the most celebrated contemporary composers, and works by historically underrepresented composers and their American peers. We hope you will plan to join us as we celebrate the Orchestra’s essential place in American musical life! For more information, visit the link in our bio.

Tomorrow evening at Leo, we invite you to continue the journey of Postcards from Spain with a curated selection of Spanish wines thoughtfully paired to complement this week’s Orchestra After 5 performance with The Philadelphia Orchestra. Featuring: 🥂 Isaac Fernández Selección “Biutiful” Cava Brut Nature 🍃 Artomana Xarmant Txakoli 🌸 Bodegas Ostatu Rioja Rosado 🍷 Luna Beberide Bierzo Mencía “Carefully identified to accompany this week’s Orchestra After 5 program, titled “Postcards from Spain”, this selection of wines represent a formidable (if brief) survey of some of the best “hidden gems” Spanish wine has to offer. Among them are the easy-going, melodious white Txakoli—a unique Basque wine chosen as a nod to Maurice Ravel’s own Basque heritage—, and the complex and expressive red Mencía wine from Bierzo, a fine accompaniment to the stylized drama of Bizet’s Carmen. Lighter in texture and density, both the sparkling Cava and the rosado from Rioja represent contemporary takes on more traditional styles—much as De Falla adapted his own culture’s musical traditions to meet the idioms of 20th-century orchestral composition.” — Nate West @philorch From the first sip to the final note, it’s a night to savor. Join us before or after the performance for an evening inspired by the flavors, rhythms, and spirit of Spain. Reserve your table:

We're reminiscing on PULITZER PRIZE–WINNING composer @gabrielalenafrank 's tenure as composer-in-residence with the Orchestra! Frank held the position from 2019–23, and during this time, she worked with young musicians at the KIPP West Philadelphia Preparatory Charter School while composing her now Pulitzer Prize–winning piece, Picaflor: A Future Myth. We're honored to have given the world premiere of Picaflor in March 2025 and to be part of this brilliant composer's journey.

It’s that same spirit of connection and encouragement that lives on every time we host a master class, side-by-side, or coaching session.
