Chi Miigwech Brad and Amanda @thrivetours for the beautiful paddling tour at Baawaating with @justinpjtrudeau Chief McCoy & Chief Sayers of @batchewanafn
Beautiful Water Song Brad!
We had the honour of guiding the Faculty of Computer Science & Technology from @algomau through the trails at Hiawatha Highlands. It was a powerful day of connection, leadership, and reflection on the land.
From rocky climbs to waterfall moments, their team stepped into a deeper way of leading — one grounded in Indigenous knowledge and relationship with the land.
Miigwetch for walking this good path with us.
If your team is looking for a meaningful way to grow together, we’d love to create a custom leadership experience with you.

We are deeply grateful to share that Indigenous-led tourism in Northern Ontario continues to be recognized for its deep commitment to the land and to sustainable practices.
Thrive Tours has been named one of Ontario’s Top 3 Sustainable Tourism Operators and is a national finalist for the Canadian Sustainable Tourism Award, presented by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada.
This recognition isn’t just about us — it reflects the shared efforts of so many people who have walked, paddled, and learned alongside us. From Elders and Knowledge Keepers to community partners, guests, and our dedicated team, every experience on the land and water is part of something larger.
Each story shared, each fire lit, and every ripple in the water reminds us that tourism can be more than recreation — it can be a path toward reconciliation, balance, and renewal.
To everyone who continues to believe in this good work and this good way of life. Chi-Miigwetch 💕

Two days on the land, learning in a good way.
We were honoured to facilitate this land-based leadership intensive with students from Algoma University’s Queen Elizabeth Scholars program at the St. Kateri Outdoor Learning Centre.
Over those two days on the land, students gathered for reflection, connection, community building, and meaningful conversations grounded in relationship, responsibility, and growth.
From time on the land to shared meals and evening fire talks, this experience created space for learning, leadership, and community in a meaningful way.
This work is at the heart of what we do at Thrive Tours.
Miigwetch to everyone who shared in this experience with us.

On our most recent trip to Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, we hopped in the car and drove over the Friendship Bridge, to literally visit friends in Soo, Ontario, Canada! Two awesome folks that we are lucky enough to know, named Brad & Amanda own a company up there called Thrive Tours and they took us on a once-a-lifetime adventure on snow shoes through the (very snowy!) woods, where Brad told us a bunch of cool stuff about the woods and taught us a little bit about his own indigenous Canadian culture as well as that of the other First Nation folks in the area. Then we built a fire, Amanda helped us all stay warm and cook up some food, after which Brad beat out a rhythm on a small drum and sang us a traditional song, and then we snowshoed back to the cars, drove back into the city, and went to a super-fancy restaurant called Ernie’s Coffee Shop, where had an excellent meal! The lights were very low at Ernie's, so my pictures aren't great, but the food sure was! We had charcuterie and olives, chicken saltimbocca, steak frittes, Caesar salad, pappardelle, and squash with burrata, and Basque style cheese cake and ice cream for dessert. Thanks, Ernie's! Thanks, BradManda! It was a perfect day. 🙏❤️
Last night was a moment Amanda and I will carry with us for a long time. Thrive Tours received the Sustainability Award from @tiac_aitc at the Canadian Tourism Congress, and we accepted it together as partners in life and in this work.
As an Indigenous-owned company, our foundation comes from the teachings I reconnected with later in life, through university, Friendship Centres, Elders, and time spent learning on the land. Amanda walks beside me as my wife, bringing her own strengths, compassion, and commitment to this path. Together, we lead Thrive Tours in a way that’s grounded in respect, culture, and relationship.
Standing on stage with my father, Al Robinson, a Sixties Scoop survivor, made this moment even more powerful. His presence reminded us why we do this work, and who we carry with us, including those who never had the chance to stand in moments like this because of colonization.
At Thrive Tours, we follow the teachings of the Two Row Wampum and the Dish With One Spoon, guiding us to walk with care, honesty, and responsibility. Sustainability isn’t a trend for us …it’s a commitment we uphold for today and for the generations yet to come.
Miigwetch.

And thank you to @greenstepsolutions for sponsoring this award, and to our team, our families, our Elders, our guests, and our partners who walk this journey with us.
We spent the evening with our friend Marc from Makatew Workshops, stepping into the space where he creates his beautiful cultural pieces, medicine bags, leatherwork, blankets, and teachings woven into every stitch.
Marc shared a bit of his journey with us… choosing sobriety, returning to culture, and reconnecting through the work of his hands. Stories like his remind us how powerful our healing paths can be.
So grateful to sit with him tonight.
Miigwetch, Marc, for sharing your gifts in such a good way.

We’re deeply honoured to share that Thrive Tours has received the Sustainability Award at the Ontario Tourism Awards of Excellence. 🌿
This recognition means so much to us as a Haudenosaunee-owned and led company, operating on Robinson-Huron Treaty territory alongside our Anishinaabe friends and family.
Sustainability isn’t a new concept for us, it’s a teaching that has guided our people for generations: to walk gently, give back, and care for the land, water, and all our relations.
To be chosen as Ontario’s top tourism business in sustainability is both humbling and affirming. It reminds us of our shared responsibility to honour and protect the places that sustain us.
Nya:weh / Miigwetch to the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario, GreenStep Solutions, our partners, communities, and all who continue to walk this path with us.
Guided by the land. Grounded in gratitude. Moving forward in Skén:nen (peace). 💚 #ThriveTours #ontariotourism #OTS25 ##SustainabilityLeadership #saultstemarie #Indigenoustourismontario #ITO

Today we walked together — students, leaders, and learners — exploring conversations around colonization, decolonization, and leadership from an Indigenous perspective. 🌎✨
These Queen Elizabeth Scholars from Algoma University brought open hearts and curiosity as we connected global and local perspectives on the land.
Miigwetch to everyone who joined this beautiful day of learning, reflection, and growth. 🌿💫
