The search for the Spirit Bear brought us along hidden inlets and through ancient forests, and it also opened the door to a richer understanding of Kitasoo/Xai’xais territory. Our @spiritbearbc guides shared how they care for these waters and wildlife, and how each bend in the river holds its own stories. Seeing the white bear was unforgettable, but the deeper impact came from learning why this land matters and how its future is being protected. If you have ever wondered what it feels like to explore the Great Bear Rainforest with people who know it best, this is a journey you can make for yourself. It is one of those rare experiences that stays with you long after you return home. Explore the full feature recapping our trip with @destinationindigenous through the link in our bio or at GoCanada.com. #theoriginaloriginal

We came looking for the elusive Spirit Bear, but what we found in the heart of the Great Bear Rainforest was something much more meaningful. In Kitasoo/Xai’xais Territory, where ancient trees stand watch over salmon streams and traditions run deep, every moment invites you to see the world differently. A visit to Spirit Bear Lodge (@spiritbearbc ) isn’t just about wildlife - it’s about connection, purpose, and being present in a place that still remembers its stories. Tap the link in bio or visit GoCanada.com to see the full feature about our trip and more glimpses of the Spirit Bear, presented in partnership with @destinationindigenous . #theoriginaloriginal

We are very proud to announce the opening of pre-orders for a project that is deeply meaningful to us: the Hooké x Bastien Moccasins. Born from an authentic collaboration with @bastienindustries_ca - Indigenous Craftsmanship, a Huron-Wendat company that perpetuates traditional know-how for generations, these moccasins are much more than a simple shoe. They are a tribute to Indigenous heritage, ancestral hunting techniques, and the respect for the animal and the land. Handcrafted, moose hides were tanned and transformed into moccasins, thereby honoring traditional craftsmanship. It is a reminder of the importance of using the whole animal and deepening our connection to the territory. Today is National Indigenous Peoples Day. If you look up the word ‘Indigenous’, you’ll find it has many synonyms, including ‘original.’ Many lay claim to being the ‘original.’ When someone makes that claim – to have been the first at something – we feel like we have something in common. We say to ourselves: this is a person who cares about roots. Someone who wants to know where things genuinely begin. We value those things too. In fact, with over 14,000 years of knowledge and 2,800 unique Indigenous experiences across Canada, we offer the most authentic and diverse experiences. And we know, smile in hand, we’ve been at it longer than anyone else. We Indigenous People, on this our home and native land. So when we decided to define who we are and what we represent, we dug deeply into our own story, what defines us and makes our experiences truly special. Or, more succinctly: The Original Original. 🔥 #DestinationIndigenous | #ExploreCanada | #TheOriginalOriginal | #NIPD2025 | #NIPDCanada | #NIPD
