TODAY is the day that all of your wildest dreams will come true! Third Thursday season opener is TODAY from 5-8pm. Third Thursday is a FREE art walk in and around @nearsouthside ‘s South Main Village with more that 25 local artists displaying and selling original artwork in over 20 venues. This month’s participating venues are art galleries, tattoo studios, retail stores, coffee shops, book stores, bars and more. @southbarbershopfw has officially opened the doors to its awesome new home on South Main Street — and we were thrilled to stop by and see the new space in action. If you’re not already a client (yet!), meet the heart behind it all: owner Laleh Rezaie ( @tonsorial_fartist ) alongside her teammate Jorge Gonzalez ( @jorgeivxn ) Laleh has called Fort Worth home for more than a decade and has been cutting hair since 2016. In 2019, she opened a tiny two-chair shop tucked behind @wintonandwaits on Daggett Avenue. It was small. It was scrappy. It was hers. And it wasn’t long before Jorge jumped in! And as of this month, South Barbershop shines from a larger storefront right on South Main Street, complete with big windows, natural light, a cozy waiting area, and prime people-watching between @southsidecellar and @morganmercantile “It feels like I’ve grown up,” Laleh laughs. “I keep thinking, ‘I’m a real boy!’ a la Pinocchio.” This move isn’t just about more space — it’s about confidence, momentum, and planting roots. Jorge brings a calm, steady presence to the shop and maintains his role as the unofficial Near Southside food guide. And here’s another reason we’re proud of Laleh: she also coordinates @thirdthursdayftw , the free bi-monthly art crawl that fills South Main Village with artists, neighbors, and creativity. As the 2026 season kicks off, she’s excited to welcome new partners and participants. “We wear every hat — and we are the soul of the neighborhood,” Laleh says. “I love seeing people walk away with art under their arm.” That pride. APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN @thirdthursdayftw is a free-to-attend casual community art crawl taking place every-other-month. Businesses located in South Main Village in Fort Worth’s Near Southside Cultural District open their doors to local artists to display their work. Some artists are invited to exhibit their work for extended periods of time before and/or after the Third Thursday event date, while others may opt for one-day showings. Community members are invited to pop in and out of participating Third Thursday venues from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on event day. 2026 is going to be a great year of community events in the district and we hope YOU will get involved!
