I was listening to a Ron Trent interview the other day - Kasheme, Zurich - which really helped me to reflect on the process of making these particular tracks. He described music and albums specifically, as storybooks, little journeys that allow people to jump into a different worlds. It made me reflect more deeply on my relationship with not only music but sound. Our experiences and memories and the sounds we hear through life can become some of the most potent material to create with.

I really enjoyed the creative journey that came with this EP. It was a chance to really get to grips with the workflow of my Akai MPC, it’s taken many hours but I can say I am in love with this way of making music. I’ve had a ‘sound’ in my head for many years. Hearing it become a reality is one of those wonders of making music.

Excursions vol 1 features two new electronic focused tracks ‘Gwithian’ and ‘Dunes’. The ‘Excursions’ concept explores my love for the outdoors and nature, using this to feed and inspire my music-making process.
This volume focuses on my travels around the coast lines and isles of the UK. Featuring field recordings from my Zoom H4n and some amateur Fujifilm photography on the cover.
Of course, expect some down tempo 808 & Deep House flavours thrown in.
