For anyone wondering what we’ve been up to all this time—We started a radio station in the Gulf Coast. ✨
What started pre-pandemic as a quick thought about having a residency on our favorite station turned into guest spots during the lockdown, and intense study on the logistics of running a station once we started touring in ‘22. We got to see some lovely communities around the globe that sprung up around these independent stations, all while the scene back home was in limbo—dead venues, retired bands and DJs, everybody moving to Philly, etc…We knew the Gulf Coast needed this energy. Our small crew of friends and acquaintances trusted our lil hare-brained scheme and came together to form the Sector family, which is growing every week. New DJs, new parties, new crews and new ways of thinking are all springing out of thin air in the Gulf Coast right now because all of us decided to say “fuck it, we can do it too”. The god
@michaelryanbrennan created our logo, because who else? Sector resident
@okay.benny did the website, and all ~30+ of us (not all pictured but all important as hell) are on the backend and in-studio keeping the ship running every week. The name has many origins, but if you know us you know it’s always at least a little UK influence in the mix (ha ha).
Much Love to Tehmeena & Rose, Frankie & Knox, and Sigourney & Giulia for answering all our annoying questions about how their stations run—yall might not even remember haha, but we will forever.
It’s been softly running weekly for the last 6 months and is very much still the early stages, still evolving and getting better all the time, strictly for the benefit of the Gulf Coast scene. Story is out now via
