This might be the year… that I give some context for my posts. No promises though. I was taking my social media cues from #britneyspears and she never gives us any context and if she doesn’t then I don’t but…Last year for my birthday i decided to do a “vanity project” that titled Vanity Insanity and it consisted of #lipsyncshorts of all sorts. I made so many. So those posts will continue until I hopefully make more. I’m still going to post random #liveperformances and the #existential #poetry (might make my own). I hope to release #newmusic this year and am currently stumbling around in the dark trying to figure out the visual element. This could be the year I “finish” the #play the #novel the #musical called #witch. I entered my #furrbaby Hodor into a contest to win some cash money so we’ll see how that plays out. Posts for this #bookstagram series where I read #canadian plays. The #podcast too Being Dramatic where I #interview #creatives just #cause like talking is like a skill I need to be a person who does the stuff I want to do. All of the above and likely more while maintaining other aspects of life that take up the majority of my time. #cats #book #funny

It’s been a week since submitting and I’m still riding the high of this accomplishment. Had to celebrate it here. Can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings.
For my final post of the series and for the month of December, I dove read the 90 minute play, Dismissed by Dyanna Jacklin, set just a few weeks before the holiday break at an elementary school — a perfect backdrop for the energy, chaos, and heart that comes with that time of year. A comedy written for six performers: three women, two men, and one role open to any gender.
What stands out is its warm, ensemble-driven world, reminiscent of *Abbott Elementary*, where character relationships and setting ground the story. The cast’s chemistry can truly shine, amplifying humor and energy. If you want a school-set comedy with an ensemble feel, *Dismissed* could be your next production.
Thanks to the @pguildcanada and @canadian_play_outlet for supporting my Canadian play explorations this year. Happy Holidays and happy reading! #theatre #canadian #canadiantheatre
For November, I read Women of the Fur Trade. Set in the early 1800s on the banks of the Red River, this sharp, playful satire follows three very different women—Marie-Angelique, Eugenia, and Cecilia—who speak in modern slang as they navigate love, rebellion, and their not-so-legendary crushes on Louis Riel and Thomas Scott.
It’s a hilarious, heartfelt look at survival, power, and women’s perspectives during the fur trade era. Thank you to @pguildcanada@canadian_play_outlet shout out to @nat.iragould for all your help #theatre #canadian #playwright #womenofthefurtrade #iread #ireadcanadianplays

Listen to the podcast Being Dramatic available on most platforms link in bio. My conversation with Dorothy Dittrich took place back in May, and I’m thrilled to finally share it with you. Dorothy is an award-winning playwright, composer, and sound designer from Nanaimo, BC. Her play The Piano Teacher won the 2022 Governor General’s Literary Award for Drama and the Jessie Richardson Award. Her other works include The Dissociates, Lesser Demons, Family Channel, If the Moon Falls, and Two Part Invention. She also wrote the book, music, and lyrics for the sung-through musical When We Were Singing, which received multiple Jessie and Dora nominations.
You can catch The Piano Teacher at Thousand Islands Playhouse from October 10 – November 2, 2025 — don’t miss it! My hope is that listening to this podcast has felt like eavesdropping on a good conversation — one where you picked up some advice on staying creative and got inspired by the incredible projects these talented guests are working on. #theatre #podcast #canadiantheatre #playwright #playwrightsofinstagram
