A few years ago, I was living on a council estate working my first “big girl” job as an apprentice at an accounting firm. Today, I get to work with dream brands like @footlockeruk during a month that means so much to me.
Allah really is the best of planners.

Almost a year ago today I was unemployed, had lied to my dad about quitting my job in accounting and pursuing my dream job which was working in marketing and social media. Which as an Asian girl in an Asian household is never going to go down well😭
Yesterday I got the opportunity to do an interview for @kaplanuk my accounting college to talk about my journey and how I switched careers and what I’ve learnt. When talking to @bearded_fellows about my journey, I spoke about my dad a lot because he helped me so much in my accounting journey to the point that they really wanted to meet him. And obviously because he’s my dad, they just loved him and wanted him to join me in my interview which was very new for him, but he agreed.
It is honestly such a surreal experience to be able to share what I’m doing with my dad, and it really just shows the beauty and power of the online world. I know that half of Pakistan is going to see that interview now🤣😭😭😭
But to honestly cut a long story short parents always come around even if they say they won’t. Honestly speaking my dad still says I’m gonna come back to accounting at some point🤣🤣😭😭 regardless, follow your dreams and work flipping hard at it.
Our parents didn’t sacrifice so much for us not to reach our full potential. 🫶🏽✨

I cannot believe I finally put my fears aside and made this happen. ✨
This was honestly SUCH a vibe I met the most amazing, inspiring and uplifting girls who really understood what this was all about.
