Honoured to be selected as an official judge for the 2026 Crunchyroll Anime Awards. Anime has always been more than entertainment for me: it’s culture, community, and connection. From my work to amplify the industry behind the scenes and building @animeandchilluk 6 years ago to now helping shape this year’s awards, this really feels like a full-circle moment. Thank you @crunchyroll it's been a pleasure working with you ❤️ Public voting is now open - make sure your favourites win! The nominees are AMAZING 👌 /animeawards/ Let’s see who takes it this year 👀 #CrunchyrollAnimeAwards #AnimeAwards #AnimeCommunity #AnimeAndChill #CrunchyrollJudge

Introducing Snake of Òrìṣà: my debut interactive game installation! I rebuilt the classic Snake game but made it voice-controlled and only playable in Yorùbá. Why voice-controlled? Because not everyone is able to play with a handheld controller - accessibility shouldn't be an afterthought when it comes to who gets to enjoy gaming. Why Yoruba? Despite being spoken by tens of millions of people across the world, there was no ready-made Yorùbá speech recognition model I could use. No real representation in gaming even though Nigerians are globally some of the highest mobile gaming consumers. No public voice dataset of our speech in any African language. No supported API. So I had to train one from scratch. The first time it's ever been done for gaming. Because if a language isn’t present in the data, it isn’t present in the future of AI. In this game, the snake only moves if you pronounce the words properly. Not simplified. Not westernised. You meet the language where it is. Exhibiting this game publicly for the first time was beautiful. Seeing all the engagement and questions from people of different races. Different backgrounds. All learning Yoruba in real time...through play. That’s the power of intentional technology. We often talk about AI as a threat to culture (undeniably in many ways it is), but it can also do the opposite. When designed intentionally, it becomes a gateway - a fun and exploratory way to encounter an indigenous language. A tool for preservation. A tool for curiosity. A tool for education. I hope this game serves as an approach and inspiration of the importance of inclusive AI and building representative technology. Thank you to everyone who contributed towards training the model, those who confidently played my game, giving feedback, showing love and @blacklinesofcode @ebonixsims for providing a safe space for me to exhibit! Shoutout to my ancestors, I hope you're proud! 😝 #gaming #inclusiveAI #Nigeria #gamedeveloper #blackinstem

FIRST BILLBOARD 🥺🎉 This weekend I had the pleasure of featuring on the @piccadillylights - one of the largest advertising displays in the world and largest in Europe 🥲 I must've walked past the billboard at least 20 times in my life but never would I have imagined I'd be up there one day! Feeling so incredibly humbled and blessed right now. This is definitely up there in the most epic moments of my life and what makes it even more special is being recognised for my work with my NGO, @thetechoverfoundation ❤️ For years I have been fighting to get more young people across the world - especially those from marginalised communities, into STEM. It's been a labour of love but one that I would do again in a heartbeat because the fight is far from over. I dedicate this billboard to all the girls globally who are told over and over again that they aren't allowed to have certain dreams because of their gender or colour of their skin. You are worthy. And you are capable. I will always root for you ✨ Thank you to the amazing team at @guapmag for making this possible. The work they do to nurture, spotlight and support black creatives and professionals is both incredible and irrefutable. Last but not least thank you to everyone who supports and rocks with the kid. Love you to the moon and back 🚀 Excuse me whilst I pinch myself 🥹❤️ #grateful #tech #thankyou #roboticsengineering #robotics #piccadillylights #stem #guap #billboard #womeninengineering

Happy Birthday to the legend Neil Kaplan! 🎉🎙️ Last year we had the chance to attend a special private dinner event with Neil at @uzumakilondon alongside a few other fans and UK anime industry pioneers. Our star girl @ysabellagrace_ has a great interview with him from the night on our page if you haven't seen it already! Hearing the stories behind the voices we grew up with was unreal, and the energy he brought to the room was unforgettable. Thank you @nekappix for being such a genuine, talented, and inspiring part of the anime world. Thank you for making the trip to spend time with your fans in the UK, and for all the belly laughs that evening! From all of us at Anime & Chill - wishing you an amazing birthday and many more years of happiness and success! 🎂🔥 #HappyBirthday #NeilKaplan #AnimeAndChill #VoiceActor #AnimeCommunity

Still smiling about this one 😊 I’ve been nominated (again!) for the Innovation Champion Award at the Black Tech Achievement Awards UK 2026. Grateful doesn’t even cover it. Thank you to @raphaelsofoluke and the @btaawards team for making this award possible. Giving techies like myself an inclusive space to truly shine and thrive 💐 And it feels extra special sharing this on International Day of Women and Girls in Science. Representation in tech and science isn’t just important - it’s necessary. The more visible we are, the more possible it becomes for the next generation. Here's a dump of some cute tech moments! Scroll to the end for a sneak peek of my latest "innovation", my game Snake of Òrìşà where I created the worlds first ever Yoruba AI voice recognition model from SCRATCH ahhh (I know absolute madness I'm still crying internally from the stress but there was no voice model in Yoruba available anywhere - this is why we need more African AI engineers) using the transfer learning technique through MobileNet/SpeechCommand 18W (pre-trained base model) Using my new model, I made a voice controlled version of the popular mobile retro game, Snake! Speak up down left right in Yoruba to move the snake to eat its food! Why? Because not everyone can use a handheld controller and I'm tired of games not being accessible. Also not everyday English in games, sometimes speak an African language and why not in a fun educational way hehe 🤭 Shoutout to my girl @ikari_bby for absolutely killing it & getting the high score (and learning how to say "down" in Yoruba in the process)! Thank you to everyone who tried my beta test at @blacklinesofcode I'll make a special post dedicated to the game soon ❤️ Here’s to building, creating, and opening doors for more women and girls in STEM 💜✨ Today I specially honour the tech baddie @francesca_cutecircuit for being a true inspiration to me, such an honour to rep you and your brand on stages and in classrooms - do you see those kids reactions?! We've got work to do ❤️✨ #roboticsengineering #WomenInTech #BlackTechAchievementAwards #InnovationChampion #internationaldayofwomenandgirlsinscience

"That lil anime thing" 💀 I mean... 700+ tickets gone 🫡 A packed house at @firelondon 🔥 Pure hype and energy from start to finish 🪩 @animeandchilluk isn't just an event; it's a movement. We're proving that when you build for the community, the community builds with you. To the brands and the skeptics: the world is watching anime - the question is, are you watching us? The UK community is just as engaged, just as loyal, just as talented and just as investable as any other region. Anime-endemic brand or not, this is the time to invest in the fastest growing fan-base in the world. You don't need to be an anime brand to see the value of hundreds of engaged consumers in one room. Curious? Lets talk. To the creatives, anime fans and cosplayers: We see you. We've always seen you. Anime and chill UK will always be your home and we'll continue to build a space where you can unapologetically be yourself, where you are heard and where you feel as special as the stories we all love. Thank you to all those who attended and support us, thank you to our amazing sponsors and a massive thank you to everyone who worked with us and gave time and energy to make this event a success. Doing a free party in this economy isn't easy but we wanted to do something special for our community in a month that's hard for many. Seeing all those smiles Saturday night and the joy in the room is why we do this! God bless you all! So so grateful 😭❤️ Bring on 2026! We're just getting started 🤜🤛 DM for partnership enquiries/See you at the next one x #animeandchill #animecommunity #cosplayuk #anime #animeevent

London-based robotics engineer and creative technologist Eneni Bambara-Abban uses her ADHD-driven creativity to develop experimental wearable technology, including acrylic nails that can open webpages and clothing that connects to weather forecasts. Her work aims to show young people that technology can be creative, engaging, and accessible. Bambara-Abban’s interest in engineering began at age five after seeing a walking doll. Her path into the field was not straightforward: despite strong GCSE science results, she struggled with her A-levels, completed a foundation engineering course, and often felt isolated as the only Black woman in her robotics program. Her ADHD helped inspire her tech-enabled nail concept. “I was always forgetting things,” she explained, which led her to explore whether everyday essentials like credit cards or key cards could be embedded into acrylic nails. The nails can scan to webpages and, in theory, support payments through a dummy bank card. However, the concept is not publicly available, as she is focusing on safety, regulation, and responsible use. Bambara-Abban later founded The Techover Foundation and now visits schools in the UK, Nigeria, and the Philippines to encourage young people, especially girls, to explore engineering. She highlights that innovation benefits from different ways of thinking and that engineering is open to everyone. Ever Had a “Too Weird to Work” Idea… That Actually Made Total Sense Later?
