Grateful to have worked on the creation of @yinka_ilori first digital artwork - an interactive musical playground called ‘Dreaming with Flamingoes’ alongside Chris Sugrue, Shona Slemon FRSA and Freya Salway. You are tasked with restoring the park’s lost song by helping the elder flamingoes remember their lost wisdom and unlock a digital artwork inspired by Yinka’s most loved Nigerian parables. You can explore more than 400 possible sound combinations and curate your own music by playing in the park. All generated by Google’s generative music models. I really think this project is amazing (heavily biased of course) & I encourage you all to play & have fun! Search “Dreaming with Flamingos” on the Google Arts & Culture app @googleartsculture or check the link in my bio to begin your musical quest.

I worked with @googleartsculture @google AI to create The Hip Hop Poetry Bot. We built an algorithm trained on a dataset of hip hop, rap & rnb lyrics, and experimented with using this to generate poetic responses to everyday questions. I was inspired by Poem Portraits & Please Feed The Lions by @esdevlin . Two projects that focus on human collaboration & pushing the boundaries of what we can do with AI. I met @ross.good.win couple years back in New York (who developed the algorithm behind those projects) & asked him do you think we can teach AI how to Rap? @chezfoxyjam encouraged me to pursue this direction, @hannah.jane.andrews @cyril.diagne @rifke.world & others helped me articulate my thoughts & bring it to life. I haven’t really given this project much love since its launch last year, but chats with @studiolive.design about art have inspired my thinking to pursue this project further.

Meet our panelist Lex Fefegha Lex is a creative technologist exploring new forms of play through emerging technologies. His work has focused on playful, multimodal AI experiences: building interactive worlds, experimental prototypes, and immersive storytelling. Lex is also an Associate Lecturer on the MA Narrative Environments programme at Central Saint Martins; he also co-runs Future Inventions Lab, a community tech school building liberatory Afro-futures. Catch him on Saturday 7th at Copeland Park Gallery, where he’ll join the panel in a shared reflection on how bodies learn through technology and how artistic practice can open space for new ways of sensing and being.

Closing out the year with the greatest to do it, at the Black Lines of Code: Opening Night 🔥✨ The essence of this exhibition is rooted in collaboration, which is why we’re ecstatic to be supported by @britishcouncil who are sponsoring two of our Nigerian artists (@syndicated_art & @tolu__coker ) by bringing them to the UK as part of the exhibition 🙏🏾🔥✨ Or second opening night panel will explore why collaborations like these are essential to diversifying digital arts and culture globally and how opportunities like these feed the economy in the best way 🌍 Moderated by multi-award winning Roboticist & Creative Technologist @thetechover , who is the Creative Technology Relationship Manager at British Council, she will be diving into conversation with: @syndicated_art • a Nigeria–based self-taught 3D character artist whose creative journey began with a lifelong love of animation @tolu__coker • a Nigeria-based 3D character artist and visual creative whose practice began in childhood, sparked by a desire to make the characters she imagined feel real @stephanienneoma_ • CEO & Founder of @nnesaga - a multi-award-winning gaming, sports and media consultancy delivering culture-first strategy, talent, content and events for global brands @lexfefegha • who creates interactive worlds and experiences. 📢 WE’RE BACK 📢 Hello, it’s been a while! We are pleased to announce our Autumn 2025 - Spring 2026 cycle, a series of educational events dedicated to demystifying AI through an artistic lens and offering critical perspectives on this rapidly growing yet largely unchecked technology. This season, we want to dedicate time to educating ourselves on how this technology is developed and functions. To be clear, *WE ARE NOT PRO-AI or advocating for its use.* We believe that technology is a reflection of its maker and to reimagine invention outside of the frameworks that Big Tech impose, more people need to be informed and involved in these conversations around technology - a sphere which has historically been white, male, and tied to class. This is why we’ve designed the upcoming cycle to explore the basics and get into counter/experimental uses of AI as well. 📅 To kick-us off, we will begin with Intro to AI: How Machines Think,  a creative hands-on workshop co-led with designer and educator, Laurent Yee. ✨London - November 4th, 6:30pm, Newspeak House (Shoreditch) ✨Virtual - November 25th, 7pm ✨Abuja - To Be Confirmed This session invites participants to take part in a manual data tagging + image generation exercise to  better understand how machine learning works. We will start with a brief presentation and then move into groups for collaboration and discussion. 🎟️ All details and tickets are in the link in our bio! £5 suggested donation or free if low income/unwaged (limited) . New website is under construction so please use the link in our bio instead of future-inventions.net for now

Back in May, I was invited to share at @futuredays.io about ‘how gaps in our historical records / archives limit not just our understanding of the past, but the stories we can imagine and build with technology. Especially with AI which requires being taught on datasets of past information’ The full talk is now on Youtube! Link in bio :)
