I reckon these are the best @karanaujla pictures out there.

From banging @karanaujla at full volume in my car in Bombay to witnessing him perform irl (that too this close 🤯) in Toronto was absolutely surreal.

Thanks to @harbhajanmannofficial ji for making me revisit the pictures from my last trip to Punjab in November 2023. Punjab has always been a very dear and sensitive place for me, very grateful that I belong to this land. The people of punjab (the real punjabis not the wannabes you’d meet in tier one cities of India) are truly the most beautiful and helpful people you’d ever come across. I am aware that I might across as biased here but this is the truth. If you think you otherwise then, that might also be true because not all Punjabis are good people too because they’re human and humans are flawed being… 🤣 At the point it feels pretty redundant and Neo intellectual but yeah I typed whatever I thought of. If you’ve read it so far then comment 13 (also a little easter egg for you, there is a reason why I posted just 13 pictures 🥹🫶)

Whenever winter rolls around, I always think of the northern regions of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh, some of the few places in South Asia where it actually snows. This is especially true when everyone starts sporting their “Cashmere” wool coats and sweaters (myself included).
This look was very much inspired by those cultures, but it is NOT an accurate representation of them. Unfortunately, I didn't have immediate access to authentic Kashmiri jewelry here in Canada.
I’ve always found the way these regions continue to adorn themselves with jewelry, paired with their wool Pherans (traditional loose-fitting robes) through the winter months, to be such a contrast to how little we accessorize for the cold in the Western world. A notable exception being the Indigenous communities ofc.
The oxidized jewelry, the headpiece, and the kohl-lined eyes are all inspirations taken from these regions. I had a lot of fun styling these pieces! It felt like a refreshing way to approach winter fashion.
There is so much rich culture, history, and beauty in these regions that isn’t talked about enough. And it very much coexists with years of ongoing conflict, pain, and the resilience of the people. Appreciating the art means not forgetting the artisans and the reality they face.

Happy Men’s Day to everyone. These are a few legends I met in Canada, they made me feel like I was back with my family and friends from India. Met a lot of them for just one time but it still felt like we were homeies since day one. Really grateful to have met them and have shared memories. The list of legends I have met is definitely more than 19 but these are the ones that I have captured through my lens. As men a lot of us go through a lot and often we only open up and talk to our boys because they’re the only ones who don’t judge us for being us unlike the women and society. Cheers to Brotherhood, if it wasn’t for the boys a lot of us wouldn’t have been where we are today 🫶🥹
