7. Christ cures the bleeding woman. Print by Adriaen Collaert, c. 1580 - c. 1590. The bleeding woman is linked to the legend of St Veronica that Bitsy draws from in her Veronicas series.
8. Veronica’s Veil is traditionally displayed at St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City on the fifth Sunday of Lent
9. The Afqa Grotto and Waterfall which is the source and spring of Nahr Ibrahim(Adonis River) in the Mount Lebanon Governorate in Lebanon. This is where Adonis, the lover of Aphrodite is said to have been killed. This is one of two sites where Dala Nasser made Adonis River (2023)
10. The Gardens of Adonis by Weguelin, John Reinhard; Northampton Museums & Art Gallery. A scene where women celebrate Adonia - a festival where women mourned together in Ancient Greece . The many mourning ceremonies that Adonis has has given rise to is what sparked Dala Nasser’s interest in this mythological figure.
