Surrendering to the process is a key part of Olof Marsja’s artistic practice, but even more so when he’s working with glass.
Here he is, ahead of his exhibition at Accelerator, in the hot shop at The Glass Factory in Boda.
The exhibition I din röst bor anden till ett språk [In your yoice dwells the spirit of a language] is on view 14 March – 14 June 2026.

The Collective Embroidery Workshop is an open invitation to gather around crafting, conversation, and communal creativity—exploring what solidarity means through embroidering.
Using the stickstol, an embroidery chair crafted by Ebba Hägne @ebbahagne as a contemporary reimagining of a traditional form once used in both Sweden and China, participants contribute stitches to a shared cloth that grows throughout the afternoon into a collective artwork. No prior experience is needed for participation.

The installation ‘I went to the IVF clinic and all I got was this lousy T-shirt’ (2026) is a commentary on the IVF industry, where expectations and disappointments are packaged as consumable services and products. With this work, Linnéa Sjöberg wants to address her feelings of powerlessness during the IVF process.
The T-shirt is available for purchase at Accelerator’s reception desk.

Drawing on his extensive knowledge of materials, Olof Marsja brings them together in works that move between ancient times and the present. The imprint of the hand is clearly visible—tracing a legacy of form and knowledge passed down through family lineages and duodji (Sámi crafts). Throughout his practice, the hand leads his dialogue with the material’s agency, history, memory and relationships.
The Roman god Janus is associated with transitions, rebirth and duality. His two heads hold the past and the future in the same gaze.
Olof Marsja’s exhibition ’I din röst bor anden till ett språk’ [In your voice dwells the spirit of a language] is presented at Accelerator 14 MAR – 14 JUN 2026.

’I din röst bor anden till ett språk’ [In your voice dwells the spirit of a language] is located in Accelerator’s underground exhibition space. For Olof Marsja, this has particular importance.
The artist speculates on the earth’s surface as a boundary to a place of disintegrated timelines, where past lives and the unborn coexist amid an impending transformation.
Through his practice, Marsja creates figures that emerge from their parallel world. At Accelerator, visitors are invited to descend into their cave for the first time.
In Marsja’s universe, there are protective amulets, amnesiac characters, ecstatic dancers, and spirits. Marsja sees them as trailblazers and guides, each with their own personality and assigned role. There is a sense of sadness over lost histories, yet also vitality — perhaps a wind or spirit that brings playfulness, excitement, and agency.

Installed throughout the exhibition, a selection of items from the reconstructed Viking village Gunnes Gård form an extension of Linnéa Sjöberg’s series and character BAD VIKING.
Sjöberg’s curiosity about older Scandinavian weaving techniques sparked a desire to work with a warp-weighted loom. To gain access to one, she took on the role of a Viking woman at Gunnes Gård in Upplands Väsby, where farm life of the late Iron Age is reenacted.
The various objects on loan from Gunnes Gård are displayed throughout the exhibition until 29 March.

The exhibition ‘I din röst bor anden till ett språk’ is located in Accelerator’s underground exhibition space. Marsja speculates about the earth’s surface as a boundary to a realm of disintegrated timelines, where past lives and the unborn coexist amidst an imminent transformation. He assigns roles and personalities to his works within a cosmos of his own, where relationality and transition replace the dichotomies that define the present.
