+ ART + MUSIC + SOCIAL + The Projecto is excited to feature " CLASIFICADO: A Blast From the Past" by Malcom Vargas (Mty, MX), facilitated by Fósforo Galeria (CDMX).
This research shows video, circuit sculptures, and live phantom transmissions. Think Analog Circuits meets Ghosts, Norteño Music, Saints, and everything in between, in a Contemporary Art Gallery.
Drop by tomorrow from 7-10pm at The Projecto, 4201 S Congress Ave #323 to experience this crazy journey of history, documentary research , performing arts, and a special "Pirate" XERF archival mix record listening starting at 9pm!

Seeding Soil, a group exhibition, and Mi Tierra, a solo exhibition by Alexandra Robinson, at @kspacecontemporary
On view September 6 through October 4, 2024
Seeding Soil is a group exhibition bringing together works by six Texas-based artists or artists with significant ties to Texas: Angela Chen, Preston Gaines, Hollis Hammonds, Alexis Pye, Jean Shon, Adelaide Theriault, and Sindhu Thirumalaisamy, investigating latent histories embedded in the land. Through immersive installations, film, and images, the works simultaneously construct and deconstruct forms of memory-keeping sown into the sociopolitical landscapes and built environment surrounding us. In varying formats, each artist inscribes new narratives and conjurings from what emerges on our shared soil.
Mi Tierra by Alexandra Robinson at K Space Contemporary September 6 through October 4, 2024
About the 2024 Texas Biennial: Mi Tierra “As a visual artist I use language and symbols that speak to the American experience as a child growing up in the U.S. military. Each time I explore “the western frontier” I am confronted with two histories, one of my Mexican heritage and one of my American heritage. They exist simultaneously, and yet in contrast to one another”.
About the 2024 Texas Biennial: The Last Sky Texas is a constructed territory, therefore unstable borders and occupations shape communities and their participants. Systems and structures rise and fall. The collapse produces dust and dirt, yielding material histories written in detritus and debris. In its eighth iteration, the 2024 Texas Biennial, The Last Sky, looks to the still-lingering dust to ask: What happens after the last line in the sand is drawn?
Sneak peek at the Texas Biennial 2024 Exhibition "The Last Sky: Seeding Soil" at K Space Contemporary in Corpus Christi.
Opening today at 6pm and going through October 4.
Not on display: Hollis Hammonds, Jean Shon, Sindhu Thirumalaisamy, and Adelaide Theriault. Also on view at K Space Contemporary, Alexandra Robinson.
Drop by @theprojectoatx this Friday 8/23 from 7-10pm to get a last look at “Las Plantas Que Me Acompañan.” A collection of sensorial moments that explore botany, metaphysics, and ecofeminist sensibilities, my installation invites you into a quiet space to connect with your own body and reflect on the botanical wisdom that might be deeply embedded within it. Where does this wisdom come from? Where does it live? Is its survival dependent on the tradition of oral history or does it lay dormant within our DNA waiting to be activated through practice?
