This exhibition, Mueck’s first major solo show in Japan in eighteen years, is centered around the installation Mass, composed of 100 giant skull sculptures. It features eleven works ranging from early masterpieces to recent creations, including six pieces making their debut in Japan. For an artist known for his limited output and meticulous practice, whose total body of work numbers only around fifty works, this exhibition presents an exceptionally rare opportunity.
