“I haven’t found a table that I feel like I belong at up to this point, so let me create a table for myself and surround myself with people who I can support.” -Alex Moncayo | Co-Founder
If you are craving more community, look no further. There’s a seat for you at the table 🫶

Philadelphia Small Business Shout Out! ✨
Sydney and Alex, are the brilliant women behind The Makers Table in Philadelphia.
These two carry such strong red and orange aura energy, which makes so much sense for the kind of space they consistently create. There’s this deeply grounding, safe, and welcoming feeling the moment you step into one of their dinners, like you can fully exhale and know you’ll be accepted for exactly who you are.
What they’ve built is more than just a gathering, it’s a collaborative experience where you can come as you are, create freely, and connect without pressure or expectation. It’s rooted in the belief that the best ideas are born when we’re together, sharing energy, perspectives, and inspiration.
The Makers Table is both a meeting ground and a launchpad. Conversations turn into collaborations, and connections turn into something lasting. And while what they create feels seamless and beautiful, I know just how much energy, dedication, and care they pour into every single dinner. That grounded, consistent red energy is so present in the way they show up and hold this community.
If you’re in Philadelphia and craving connection, creativity, and a space that truly feels good to be in, this is something you’ll want to experience. Go to their page and fill out their questionnaire to be considered for their next dinner!
If you want to hear more about what’s going on at The Makers Table, wait no longer. @alishainthebiz put together an amazing radio segment that gives an inside look at what this experience is.
The episode will air LIVE this Sunday, May 17 on WPPM-LP 106.5 FM radio starting at 2pm! You can tune in live on the radio or online: /programs/block-by-block. The episode will also be available to listen to on all major podcast platforms starting Monday, May 18.
Thank you, Alisha, for capturing us in this new way. Your art form- journalism- is crucial in these wild times. Thank@you for uplifting our passion project turned business!
Happy MAKER MONDAY! Where we introduce you to the talented individuals we’ve had the honor of sharing our table with…
Meet floral designer Ren He, owner of Eavesdrop Florals @eavesdropflorals 🌼 Ren creates stunning floral arrangements for gatherings and events both big and small, and has also expressed interest in expanding her design work into studio-based creative projects.
At our Makers Table dinner, What Is An Artist?, Ren collaborated with fellow attendees to create a beautiful tablescape that brought the evening to life. We also recently had the pleasure of bringing her into our collaboration with Morgan Stanley, where her arrangements elevated the design in such a thoughtful, whimsical, and refined way.
Something we’d love to share about our connection to Ren is that she applied to The Makers Table months ago and we relatively quickly got in touch but our timelines didn’t align. Months later, Ren sent over an email asking if we had anything coming up that might be a good fit for her and ✨VOILA✨ she was a part of The Makers Table community after attending her first dinner in March. As a reminder, if you’re dying to attend a dinner, PLEASE reach out to us directly. You never know where it will lead!
Ren, we can’t wait to see what else we get to dream up and create together!
Hospitality and collaboration are essential to every aspect of my life, from The Makers Table, to my work in Higher Ed Philanthropy, my research and writing, how I exist in my home, and even my core values. That’s why I’m beyond excited and honored to be a featured Speaker at the Wine and Hospitality Conference with Strategy Sessions Live, presented by Comcast Business.
I’m so grateful to represent all of the pieces of my life that I love, and hopefully share some helpful information along the way.
Registration for this event is still open and early bird pricing closes on 5/9 so be sure to check out the link in my bio to sign up! I hope to see you there.

Happy MAKER MONDAY, where we introduce you to the incredible creatives we’ve had the honor of sharing our table with…
Meet Chef Ashley Huston, founder of @dreamworldbakes 🎂 A bakery located in East Kensington that creates the most beautiful, whimsical, DREAMY, and not to mentioned delicious cake designs.
Ashley and her team have baked for a number of our events. From a sweet little cake for our 4th ever Makers Table to whimsy blue cupcakes for our most recent client project with @nuuly , every creation has always blown us away 🍰✨
Watching this business grow has been such a pleasure and we can’t wait to see what other incredible projects we can continue to collaborate on with @dreamworldbakes 🌟
Last night, we gathered for another MakHERs Table in collaboration with @morgan.stanley ✨
Together, we hosted an intimate evening for women within our Makers Table community centered around financial literacy, honest conversation, and the reality of building something of your own.
Gathered in the stunning courtyard of @hotel_anna_bel , the conversation unfolded over an incredible meal, where guests shared their experiences and lessons. Important questions were promoted and conversation followed with ways in which we can all grow as financially savvy entrepreneurs.
This evening was for the women in our community, a space to come back together, to talk openly about the wins and the challenges of running a business.
Grateful for a community that shows up with both vulnerability and wisdom. You all constantly amaze us!

Inspiration vs. reality! Three incredibly talented women from our community saw the vision and executed flawlessly, working together collaboratively to create the perfect tablescape for Grounded, a dinner powered by @lululemon – shoutout to @sarah_on_a__whim@jessigangemi & @time_within for your time and talents on this incredible Makers Table 🌱
Back with another MAKER MONDAY, where we introduce you to the incredible people we’ve had the honor of sharing our Table with. Meet Jermaine Jenkins!
Jermaine is the Director of Development and Strategic Partnerships at @designphilly where he is the definition of a connector, pouring so much into the creative community to bring people, places, and art together in a way that just feels natural. Grounded, thoughtful, and effortlessly refined. Jermaine carries a quiet confidence paired with such kindness that speaks for itself.
We had the pleasure of having him at our Ignite dinner at BOK, where we premiered our first ever Makers Table documentary ( by @eastfolkcreative ) on the auditorium stage which ended with him sharing how excited he was to experience The Makers Table.
We hope our Table lived up to the hype and we can’t wait to have you back, @maineyboyjenkins 🙌
Contributions from – What Is An Artist? – All of our guests at The Makers Table are so very talented and we’re constantly blown away by the incredible contributions. Guests putting their whole heart and soul into what they do and being vulnerable enough to bring it to The Table is not something we take lightly, and it’s about time we start sharing those contributions with the rest of YOU.
We can’t wait to see what else our community members bring to our tables. When it all comes together, it’s a unique form of magic ✨
We’ve hosted Makers Table events in some special places and these are 5 that have always stuck with us long after the candles were blown out and the dinner plates were cleared.
Not just because each is beautiful and unique in its own way (because they all are) but because of how they made us and our guests feel by the end of the evening, and that’s always what matters most to us.
Save these spots for your next shindig!
