The storm brought catastrophic winds and rainfall, causing flooding and extensive damage. Safe water is critical during any disaster. It is essential for providing emergency services like food, shelter, and medical care, making it possible for residents to heal and rebuild. Water Mission is a nonprofit with more than 25 years of experience delivering lifesaving clean water solutions in disaster areas around the world. Knowing the need would be dire, Water Mission deployed disaster response professionals and emergency equipment to Jamaica ahead of the hurricane. Water Mission was the only water organization prepositioned in Jamaica to serve those impacted by the storm. This made it possible to get clean, safe water flowing to the men, women, and children quickly, in their hour of greatest need. But the need remains.
