Happy Mother’s Day to the woman who makes our house feel like home.
Watching you love and care for our children is one of the greatest blessings of my life. I know this past year has been hard on you, and I know today you didn’t ask for anything big. You just wanted rest. You deserved that and so much more.
So today was simple, but it was for you. Sleeping in. Starbucks. Cinnamon toast. Crafts from the kids. A quiet house. Space to breathe. Steak and baked potatoes for dinner. Nothing flashy. Just a day built around giving back a little bit of the peace, comfort, and love that you give all of us every single day.
You carry so much for our family. You teach, nurture, comfort, plan, pray, and pour yourself out in ways most people will never fully see. But I see it. The kids see it. And we are better because of you.
Adelynne and Ashriel are so blessed to have you as their mama. They are growing up surrounded by your love, your faith, your creativity, your patience, and your heart for the Lord. There is no greater gift I could ask for them than a mother who loves them the way you do.
I hope today reminded you that you are loved, appreciated, needed, and cherished. Not just on Mother’s Day, but every day.

Oh man… this past year? It sucked. We got hit with more than we expected, and we had to carry more than we thought we could. But through all of it, we still had each other.
Even today, we spent way too much time trying (and failing) to remove the glare from my glasses in this picture. But honestly, failing together kinda sums up what makes this life so good. It’s not perfect, but it’s ours. And I wouldn’t want to go through any of it with anyone else but you.

Even with everything you juggle — homeschooling them, managing your real estate business full-time, and keeping our lives running — you always find time to love our kids in ways that matter. Whether it’s being our daughter’s loudest cheerleader at her soccer games or letting our son sneak into our room because you’re a complete sucker for him, you love them with everything you have.
I know this past year has been tough, and I know there are days when you feel like you’re not enough for them. But let me tell you — you are so much more than enough. Our kids don’t just love you, they look up to you. They feel safe, they feel seen, and they feel loved because of you. You are their world, and you are mine too.

Last night we had a date night. We discussed our goals and plans for this year. We talked through how our new day to day will look and how we want our family to operate throughout the year. Although it was ended early (some girl at the bar got over served and was really loud and also fell on the floor right behind me), it was the cornerstone for what I believe to be the best year yet of our relationship.

Happy 7 year anniversary babe.
This year we chose to just stay home. We were gifted with the opportunity to be kid free for a few days so we just spent the entire time together doing the things we enjoy doing.
Wednesday we went to Woodhouse Spa where I got a massage and Jenn got a facial. We were treated to chocolate truffles and some mimosas. Then we went to an antique store to buy absolutely nothing. While down that way we stopped into our favorite bakery to grab some sweets as a final treat.
Thursday we started the day with TopGolf. We had fun but Jenn was never sure of what to do no matter how many times she tried to hit the ball. We then went home and just relaxed. Enjoyed the quiet.
Friday. Our actual anniversary. We had plans to go to Middleton but the rain had other plans for us. First we stopped by a patio furniture place…for no reason other than to pass time. Then we went to target where Jenn got to walk around and I just sat in the Starbucks (after she told me that I looked bored and that I can go look at stuff that I wanted to look at). We then made our way to do the second escape room we ever tried to do together and I’d say it went just as bad as the first one we tried. We obviously failed. We stopped into a little thrift store only to buy nothing again. Then for dinner we went to Halls. I had the steak that I have longed for and Jenn got her dessert she always gets every year.
This was not the vacation we wanted to have but it was the staycation that we needed.
I joke every year about renewing our contract for another year. This past year was a rough one. And honestly we are currently still going through some crazy times. It’s the hard years that make us stronger together. As we reflect and look forward to the next year ahead, I pray the strengthening continues and our love grows deeper.
