Here's one for cyclists and walkers - the Inner Forth Bike Bus is returning tomorrow @innerforth Every Sunday from 17th May to 27th September 2026, walkers and cyclists can use the Inner Forth Bike Bus to reach stops around the Forth, from Alloa to the Forth Bridges. Free tour guide on the bus too! The Inner Forth Bike Bus can accommodate a range of bicycles, e-bikes, tandem bikes, handcycles and trikes. Where there is a wheel, there is a way! There are 8 stops and you can get on and off wherever suits you in either a clockwise or anticlockwise direction. The stop nearest the Forth Bridges is at Port Edgar Marina in South Queensferry which you can use to cycle over the Forth Road Bridge. See timetable . The Inner Forth Bike Bus is a FREE transport service that loops around the Inner Forth on a Sunday, with space for 15 passengers and 12 bikes. Bookings are not required but are recommended so if you'd like to save your spot, here's the link: /inner-forth-bike-bus Please email [email protected] if you have a non-standard bike, to ensure they can accommodate you.

The Majestic Princess returns tomorrow for her second trip to the Forth Bridge this year. Cruise Forth welcome volunteers will be on hand to assist crew and passengers with their plans for the day. There will be a free shuttle bus along to @portedgarmarina where passengers can enjoy dining, shopping and boat cruises, and return to Hawes Pier later in the day, or walk back along the High Street on the Forth Bridges Trail. The Forth Bridge World Heritage Site is delighted to confirm that @esaldegheri has been selected for the @edincityoflit UNESCO Creative Cities x Heritage Sites Forth Bridge Residency. Esa Aldegheri is a Scottish‑Italian scholar, writer and educator, currently a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow at the University of Glasgow. Her work explores refugee journeys, borders and integration, and has informed Scotland’s New Scots Refugee Integration Strategy. She’s the author of Free to Go - Across the World on a Motorbike (2022), editor of There She Goes - New Travel Writing by Women (2025), and is also a poet. Esa commented upon her selection: "I am full of gladness for this adventure! The Forth Bridge has brought me inspiration and consolation over many seasons. What a joy to spend time thinking and writing about its sights and sounds as Writer-in-Residence for Edinburgh City of Literature.
