🌻 What is Pangin' Art? 🌻 SUPERB QUESTION! Pangin' Art was formed after I attended a wedding with my friend which had an amazing Live Portrait Artist and I thought that was the coolest thing ever and I want to do it too lol. I've had a chance to test out the idea at some superb wonderful markets recently and it's been so much fun!! Over the past few years, I've come to enjoy drawing so much. From people to pets to places, I love it all! I want to share the joy with everyone so I'm taking bookings for events. If you're wanting a live artist at your event definitely hit me up! Weddings, Birthdays, Celebrations, anything at all. I'd love to be there. I'm a big teary baby sometimes as well so this comes with a tissues and tears guarantee for emotional moments. What a very smart little catalogue the committee of the @forthbridgescreativetrail have produced for the 30th/31st May art trail in South Queensferry. I’m very thankful to them as this year i haven’t been able to be involved in the organisation. They have done an amazing job. There are over thirty five artists. I am venue 1 and am a bit out of the main throng but it will be my studio and creative chaos for everyone to see so please do come up to me as well if you can come that w/e! If not I’m always open by appointment. If you are an EH30 postcode then look out for this cool little catalogue dropping through your door. Royal Mail will be dropping them through the letter boxes from Monday.

Venue 5 - Caroline Skirrow - @caros.ceramics Based on the east end of the High Street in South Queensferry at 9 Edinburgh Road, EH30 9HR, Caroline’s studio space is in her basement room down the side lane of her property, with stunning views out over the Firth of Forth.

Busy busy in the workshop and today it was hexagon earrings for the @forthbridgescreativetrail on 30th and 31st May. There is something about these earrings that reminds me of the structure of the Forth Bridge and I can’t wait to be in such an amazing location very soon! I will be at Venue 6 - Queensferry Museum, 53 High Street 10am - 5pm both days. Venue 4 - The Rail Bridge Bar & Bistro, 4 Newhalls Road, South Queensferry, EH30 9TA. Another new venue for this years @forthbridgescreativetrail , @therailbridge is also located just along from the Forth Rail Bridge. The artists located here (listed below) will be upstairs on the landing area within the venue. A lovely place to stop by after visiting the artists, to enjoy a coffee, some food or an icecream whilst taking in the glorious views overlooking the bridges. Look at this MOODY painting of MULL by Susan Mancini of @pastelartfalkirk ……👌 But how should it be framed? 🤔 Choosing the correct type of frame for an artwork isn’t a scientific process……the frame choice and finish are generally made using CREATIVE INSTINCT along with communicating with the artist/customer as their input is absolutely pivotal in this regard….. Other factors in the decision making process are budget and the location and environment in which the framed artwork will hang……. For example - framed artworks can be easily damaged in a commercial environment like a hotel or restaurant but less so in a residential setting……as such, the use of glass to protect the artwork would be prudent for commercial settings but less so for residential environments….👍👍👍👍 Susan’s artwork was painted on a stretched canvas with acrylics and she didn’t want it glazed……she also wanted the frame to ‘blend’ with the dark colour palette used…… We’ve chosen this black open grain profile from the COASTAL WOODS range from @larsonjuhluk - the moulding provides the correct level of visual impact with some interesting linear detailing as opposed to using a simple flat framing profile. Venue 3 - The Hawes Inn, 7 Newhalls Road, South Queensferry, EH30 9TA. A new venue for this year, @hawesinnsouthqueensferry is located directly beneath the Forth Rail Bridge, and will be the base for a collection of our artists (listed below) in their function room (room to the left of the bar, or entry through the side door/beer garden to the left) for the @forthbridgescreativetrail weekend. A fabulous place to stop off and enjoy a drink or some food after visiting our artists as you start or end your day of trailing. Huge thanks to the managers of @hawesinnsouthqueensferry for providing us a room to have as a venue and for supporting our event.
