The U.S. release of 𝑬𝒍𝒗𝒊𝒓𝒂 𝑵𝒐𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒊: 𝑩𝒆𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒅 𝑺𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 kicks off in New York with a premiere at
@filmforumnyc .
Not only is NYC a city where Elvira Notari left a mark in her time, distributing Neapolitan films in the emerging Little Italies, but it’s also where this documentary was conceived. Over five years ago, researching Italian American theaters, we first came across her remarkable story, setting in motion a journey that grew into the community behind the film.
There’s no better home for this than Film Forum, an institution long committed to celebrating neglected and historic cinema. Thank you for welcoming Elvira back to the screen in our city.

🇮🇹 Il tour statunitense di 𝑬𝒍𝒗𝒊𝒓𝒂 𝑵𝒐𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒊: 𝑩𝒆𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒅 𝑺𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 si apre a New York con la prima al Film Forum. Qui Elvira aveva lasciato un segno, portando i suoi film da Napoli fino a Little Italy. E sempre qui è nato il nostro documentario. Lavorando a un progetto sui teatri italoamericani, ci siamo imbattuti per la prima volta nella sua storia, l'inizio di questo viaggio.
