🔥This June, Hong Kong’s hottest young talents in the music scene are coming together in style to present a musical extravaganza of pure virtuosity, great inspiration and irresistible self-expression with Hong Kong Sinfonietta. Two-time World Champion harmonica virtuoso Cy Leo and acclaimed jazz pianist Daniel Chu will perform emerging composer Alice Yeung’s specially commissioned work “Time (in-)Linear” under the baton of Music Director Christoph Poppen, a work exploring and playing on the concept of time which will see its European première at the Marvão International Music Festival in Portugal this summer.
In the same concert, Maestro Poppen will bring his authoritative interpretations of Haydn’s Symphony No 64, also centred around the topic of time and titled “Tempora Mutantur”, as well as Beethoven’s Symphony No 2, written during a dark period of the composer’s life but radiating an exuberance almost from another time and space, to complete a programme of conceptual brilliance.

同場柏鵬大師亦將率領樂團演奏海頓的第64交響曲「時光流轉」，以及貝多芬充滿青春朝氣的第二交響曲，為這場關於時間流轉與交錯的音樂旅程綻放鮮明的色彩。

For the past few months, Jezrael Lucero @jezraellucero and I teamed up for the Local Creative Research and Development Scheme, commissioned by No Limits.
To wrap up this stage of our collaboration, I curated an evening at the Fringe Club on March 5 that began with a speech I wrote to honor Jezrael. This was followed by his solo piano concert, and a conversation between us to close the night.
As a friend and fellow jazz musician, it has been a profound privilege to journey alongside Jezrael and invite the audience to understand his artistry. He is undeniably one of the finest musicians I know in Hong Kong.
