It’s the last day to view the Ojai Jail Arts Initiative @oja.initiative exhibiton, so come on down to the old jail and say hi! We will be open 11-6, exhibiting thoughtful new work by @annetteheully , @mirkdrop , @hai_hey @hesaitix , @livingrelic , & @rangerfinder . There will also be a closing drink and artist talk at 3 beginning just a block away at @carolynglasoebaileyfoundation and finishing with an informal q & a at the exhibition site itself.

On Saturday, October 8th the Ojai Jail Arts Initiative @oja.initiative will finally open! Join us on Saturday starting at 11am to see the show in Libbey Park. Feel free to bring a picnic, a blanket, and friends to enjoy the beginning of fall this Saturday in the park. Starting at 5pm we will walk a block around the corner to the Carolyn Glasoe Bailey Foundation (248 S. Montgomery Street) to enjoy wine and refreshments in celebration. Refer to the map for the location of the Jail in Libbey Park and nearby parking on the bikepath.

We have an exciting new project in the works in downtown Ojai! Follow @oja.initiative to keep up. . The Ojai Jail Arts Initiative is a site specific, multi-disciplinary group exhibition taking place from October 8th to 16th in and around the historic, decommissioned Ojai City Jail in downtown Ojai. Curated by Matt Henriksen, Elizabeth Herring, and Teddy Nava, the week-long exhibition will include new commissions by Brett William Childs, Annette Heully, Vanessa Wallace Gonzales, Gary Lang, Hailey Loman, Sarah Mirk, and James Whipple. Connected through their ties to Ojai and Ventura county, the artists have been asked to respond to the jail as a site for investigating hyper local geography and social historical space, repositioning it as a generative, community space for arts and culture in the Ojai Valley. .
