This was the year of relearning the intuitive art of surrender, a deep-seated wisdom that is intrinsic to our beings but can be clouded so easily by fear of the unknown. And as with learning/relearning/unlearning anything, it is messy, ugly, raw. To walk this earth as a musician is to live in perpetual servitude and submission to the music, to live in eternal study of life, balancing between the duality of the supposed glamour of performing and the reality of what actually happens behind the scenes.
That no matter the pressure to conform to a “conventional” lifestyle, no matter the uncertainty of where this path may lead, no matter the constant rejection, hours and hours of isolation in practice, a level of discipline that informs every decision about your life, you continue to surrender. It is alone in those tiny practice rooms the size of a closet that we meet every part of ourselves and in that continued submission where we find our true power 💖 Refining this energy for 2026 ✨
