Hi everyone! I’m Tatiana (@tatiisummer ), a Brooklyn-based artist taking over the Black Zine Fair instagram today! I can not wait to debut my zines at the Black Zine Fair this year.
My personal press is called Circadian Summer, it’s a multidisciplinary entity blending book arts and zines with the world of film.
I am an arts educator and filmmaker and am expanding my whimsical worlds to the medium of zines to share and challenge my storytelling.
Most of my zines will be inspired by my three short films, “Dawn”, “Penny for your Thoughts”, and “el campo” that you can watch on my website, Tatianatift.com.
I will also be debuting zines inspired by my latest short film that is unreleased called “Annabel Lee Blues”. It is a queer blues adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe’s poem, ‘Annabel Lee’.
My hope is that in the future I can collaborate with other independent filmmakers to create zines inspired by their next short films.
I will be presenting photobooks, matchbook notebooks, postcard zines, interactive hardbound notebooks and fun educational zines inspired by my family, funny Nyc stories and my elementary students.
See you all on May 9th! ✨🤸🏽♀️
My first documentary that I shot and edited in September 2022 had its premiere with @newyorkcinefest .

“el campo” is an atmospheric short displaying an intimate portrait of a farm located in the countryside of the Dominican Republic from dawn to dusk. Having been shot over the course of a week and edited to appear all in the one day, it’s meant for viewers to pause and immerse themselves in the vibrant sights and sounds of the DR.

The next screening will be in NYC with @lfmarketnyc on June 13th at 6pm and
Tickets are in bio.

I am truly overjoyed with the feedback I’ve been receiving from this short! Traveling to a place my grandpa grew up in meant a lot to me as I begin to have a stronger connection to my moms side of the family.
Special thanks to our Nuñez family, cousin Becky, to Felix who allowed me to follow him around the farm for a week and my mom getting up at 6am with me every day and emotionally supporting me. 🥹
